Cranial Sacral Therapy with Tammy McLendon

"To learn craniosacral therapy is to learn to reside in the relational field, a field of interactive attention, between the practitioner and the client.

We will learn about the tide, the primary respiratory mechanism, SBJ movements and stillpoints. But we will not be looking at strains and stasis in the tissues and fluids but at individual life history stored in the body and psyche of each person. How bodies store overwhelm until they can process. We will hold feet and view the steps they take. We provide validation for systems that leads to ease.

Calming work where a basic skill is to hold awe and wonder, CST is the next level for a bodyworker looking for deeply soulful sessions."

One thing I have intentionally done for my health since my cancer diagnosis last year is ground outside every day for a minimum of 5 minutes.

I genuinely believe our bodies were made to be connected to the earth.

Grounding, also called earthing, is simply direct skin contact with the earth. Some research suggests it may support the body’s inflammation response, immune activity, wound healing, pain, stress, sleep, cortisol rhythm, heart rate variability, and blood viscosity. The basic idea is that the earth carries free electrons, and when we touch the ground barefoot, those electrons may help neutralize excess oxidative stress in the body, which is tied to inflammation.

This article describes grounding as a simple, natural practice that deserves more research, especially for inflammation and nervous system -

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4378297/

I’m not saying grounding is a cure-all or a replacement for medical care. But for me, being barefoot on the earth every day is one of the simplest ways I support my body, calm my nervous system, get fresh air, and reconnect with God’s creation.

Sometimes healing feels complicated.

Sometimes it looks like taking your shoes off and standing in the grass while you throw a ball for your dogs.
