Join Evergreen Doula Services for a FREE Foothills Lactation Circle held at the Jefferson County Public Library in Evergreen on the following days:

Foothills Lactation Circle is a free breast/chestfeeding support group for anyone feeding their little ones human milk and looking for feeding guidance as well as connection with other parents in the Denver foothills and surrounding mountain community!

We offer weight checks and weighted feeds as well.

Bring your babe ready to eat and any questions you have!

Back again — on Thursday August 27 at 10am MT, I’m hosting What the First 72 Hours of Breastfeeding Really Look Like — a free live training for expecting families who want to feel genuinely ready, not just hopeful.

We’ll cover what’s actually happening in your body and your baby’s, what’s normal, what to watch for, and how to stay calm and confident when it matters most.

If a sleep consultant told you that you have to wean to get better sleep — let’s talk about that.

Biologically, babies waking overnight to eat or for comfort is normal. A 6-hour stretch is actually closer to “sleeping through the night” than 12 hours.

Night weaning can affect your supply — so it’s not a decision to make lightly, or because someone told you it’s the only path to rest.

Sleep matters. Your rest matters. So does reaching your breastfeeding goals.

Before you bring in a sleep consultant, check in with yourself on what you actually want — then find someone who will help you get there, not around it.

I hear from families I have worked with prenatally all the time the day baby comes and they all start by saying they are so glad we have already met.

Me too.

And families that I meet after baby arrives almost all day the same thing at the end of our first visit, “I wish I had been more prepared.”
