Fairbanks Ultrasound was thrilled to be the home of the Fairbanks Kids Dinosaurs Book Exchange! 📚🦕 What an amazing community project this was, bringing kids, families, books, and a whole lot of dinosaurs together.

We loved welcoming everyone for the grand opening—and those dinosaur costumes definitely made it one to remember! 🦖💜

A huge thank you to Fairbanks Dinosaurs and everyone who helped make this book exchange possible. We’re so happy to be part of something that encourages kids to read, share, and discover new adventures. 📖✨

Your provider gave you an imaging order… now what?

At Fairbanks Ultrasound, same-day walk-ins are welcome with a valid referral or imaging order! 🙌

No complicated process. No need to put off getting the imaging your provider ordered.

Simply bring your valid referral or imaging order and stop by during business hours. We’ll work to fit you in as soon as our schedule allows—often the same day.

We offer a wide range of ultrasound services, including:

✨ Abdominal & general diagnostic imaging
✨ Thyroid & soft tissue
✨ Kidney, bladder & pelvic imaging
✨ Vascular & Doppler studies
✨ Musculoskeletal ultrasound
✨ Pregnancy ultrasound

📋 A quick reminder: Some ultrasound exams require special preparation, such as fasting or arriving with a full bladder. Give us a call if you’re unsure what your exam requires.

You lift something heavy. You cough. You stand up. You work out.

And suddenly you notice a bulge, pressure, pulling sensation or discomfort in your abdomen or groin that wasn’t there before.

It may be time to talk with your healthcare provider about whether imaging is appropriate.

🔎 Ultrasound can be used to help evaluate a suspected hernia.

One of the unique benefits of ultrasound is that it provides real-time imaging. Depending on the exam your provider orders, the sonographer may evaluate the area while you change position, move, or bear down to help capture what’s happening beneath the surface.

Your provider may consider imaging when you’re experiencing:

✨ A new or unexplained bulge
✨ Groin or abdominal discomfort
✨ Pressure or pulling with activity
✨ Symptoms that become more noticeable when standing, coughing or straining
✨ Pain around an area of concern

Ultrasound uses sound waves—not radiation—to create images that can help your healthcare provider determine the next step in your care.

✨ Meet our Lead Sonographer: Nichole! ✨

Nichole has been part of the Fairbanks Ultrasound family for 8 years—and for good reason! 💕 If you’ve visited us recently, there’s a good chance you already know and love her.

When she’s not at the clinic, you can usually find her cheering on her kiddos at the hockey rink 🏒 or escaping to somewhere a little sunnier and sandier ☀️🏝️
