Fatigue can be a significant side effect with weight loss. Managing that fatigue is essential to sustainability and quality of life.

❤️Recent guidelines from the American College of cardiology are emphasizing, lifelong prevention, shifting the focus to early risk assessment, and lowering target levels for bad cholesterol.

1. Earlier screening is recommended, starting at the age of 10. In addition, adults should be utilizing a heart disease risk estimation calculator called the PREVENT calculator to determine both 10 year and 30 year heart attack risk. 💉🩸

2. Lower targets for LDL, or bad cholesterol.
Below 100 for average Risk
Below 70 for intermediate risk or diabetes
Below 55 for high risk individuals who have already had a heart attack or stroke. 🧫

3. Lipoprotein (a) testing for all adult adults at least once in their lifetime. This is a independent risk factor for heart disease and carries a strong, genetic predisposition. 🧬
