It is with a heavy heart we mourn the loss of one of the members of our EMSSTAT family. Jules Curry was an outstanding paramedic, committed co-worker and amazing person. No matter how diverse EMSSTAT may be, the thing that unites us all is the uniform we wear. Now we are united by the pain of knowing that one of us has worn the uniform for the last time.

Our thoughts and support are with her family during this difficult time.

🚑 Meet Your Medics: EMT Charlie Simmons 🚑

This week, we'd like to introduce Charlie Simmons, one of the dedicated professionals serving our community.

Charlie brings one year of EMS experience, with much of that time spent working in fast-paced urban environments, where he developed valuable skills in handling a wide variety of emergency situations and providing compassionate patient care under pressure.

When he's off duty, Charlie enjoys lifting weights, playing video games, and most importantly, spending time with his wife. His life is also guided by a strong faith in Jesus Christ, which helps shape his commitment to serving others with compassion and integrity.

We're grateful to have Charlie as part of our team and appreciate the dedication he brings to every shift.

Stay safe this holiday:
🧨 Leave professional fireworks to the professionals.
👀 Never let children handle or ignite fireworks.
🪣 Keep a bucket of water or hose nearby.
🚫 Never relight a "dud" firework.
🍺 Avoid alcohol if you're handling fireworks.
🩹 Burns, eye injuries, and hand trauma can happen in seconds.
Know when to call 911: 🚑 Severe burns
🚑 Eye injuries
🚑 Uncontrolled bleeding
🚑 Difficulty breathing after smoke exposure
🚑 Any serious injury or if someone becomes unresponsive
Celebrate responsibly so everyone makes it home safely.

🚑 Meet Your Medics 🚑

Today we’re proud to introduce one of our incredible team members—well known around the station as our very own “Station Momma,” Sarah Alber. 💙

With 9.5 years of EMS experience and 11 years in the fire service, Sarah brings both skill and heart to every call. Her passion for this work comes from a deep desire to serve others and be a guiding presence during life’s most difficult moments. She shares that her calling is “to be the hands and feet of Jesus in people’s most vulnerable times,” and she lives that out every day on the job.

Outside of the station, she is just as dedicated. Sarah has been married for 18 years, is a proud mom of seven children, and has co-owned a bakery for the past 16 years—proving she knows a thing or two about balancing service, family, and business.

And here’s a fun fact you might not expect: her family collects Monopoly board games—and not just a few! They’ve built an impressive collection of over 250 different versions so far. 🎲
Her compassion, experience, and steady presence make her an invaluable part of our team—and our community is better because of it.
