Meet the team dedicated to your child’s cancer and blood disorder care!

At PSV, our Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD) provides expert, compassionate care for children and young adults with cancer and blood disorders—from leukemia and lymphoma and brain tumors to sickle cell disease, thalassemia, and bleeding and clotting disorders. Our specialists provide comprehensive care from diagnosis through treatment, recovery, and long-term survivorship.

With a multidisciplinary, family- and child-centered approach, our CCBD team brings together pediatric hematologists and oncologists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, child life specialists, art therapists, pharmacists, and other specialists to support the medical, emotional, and developmental needs of each child and family.

We’re excited to welcome Sanam Zarei, MD, to PSV’s Pediatric Neurology team! Dr. Zarei is a board-certified pediatric neurologist specializing in pediatric neurology and epilepsy. She sees patients at our Ashburn and Fairfax locations, caring for children with a wide range of neurologic conditions.

Dr. Zarei has a special interest in epilepsy, psychogenic non-epileptic spells and functional neurologic disorder. She is passionate about patient advocacy and healthcare innovation and works closely with children and their families to develop individualized solutions that address each child’s unique needs.

Our incredible team came together once again for our annual School Supply Drive, collecting more than 650 school supplies to help our families start the new school year ready to learn!

This year, we’re also celebrating a special milestone as some of the children born during the pandemic head off to kindergarten. It’s hard to believe how quickly they’ve grown!

We’re grateful to our PSV team for continuing to show up in so many meaningful ways. Every notebook, pencil, backpack and supply donated is a small gesture that can make a big difference for a child and their family.
