Northern Virginia sisters, this evening is for you. 🤍
Thrive Center is deeply honored to welcome Aalimah Sarah Ahmed Sarah Ahmed to Northern Virginia for a special evening celebrating the launch of her new book, A Light of Her Own: Muslim Womanhood as a Path to Allah.
For more than a decade, Aalimah Sarah has taught and supported Muslim women through Islamic scholarship that speaks thoughtfully to the realities of our everyday lives. She is an Islamic scholar, educator, author, Co-Director of EmpowHer Health, and co-host of She Should Know.
Her newest book feels especially close to the heart of what so many Muslim women navigate.
A Light of Her Own explores what it means to move toward Allah through the realities of womanhood itself, through our changing seasons, relationships, motherhood, worship, grief, and the many experiences that shape a woman’s spiritual life.
Rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah, it offers Muslim women a way to see their womanhood not as something to work around in their relationship with Allah, but as part of the very path through which that relationship can deepen.
And this September, we have the privilege of gathering with her in person.
Not simply for a book signing, but for an evening of reflection, stories, and connection among sisters.
A chance to hear from Aalimah Sarah herself, celebrate this beautiful new work, meet other Muslim women from across Northern Virginia, and leave with something meaningful to carry home.
