Gal.X.e Wellness LLC yoga * holistic health * wellness My name is Marissa Steiner (RYT200) I have been practicing yoga since 2015 and teaching since 2020.

Although I practice all styles of yoga, my specialty is in core and pelvic floor integration, and my teaching style is based out of years of physical therapy to help support strengthening muscles and stabilizing joints. As an LCSW (Maine), I had worked for 10 years in the mental health field, and although I am no longer a practicing therapist, I continue to incorporate trauma-informed approaches a

nd polyvagal theory to support students in learning skills to self sooth and more effectively regulate emotions. I look forward to meeting you! Please reach out if you have any questions or would like to know more about current offerings.

Good afternoon folks!

Thank you SO MUCH for all the folks reaching out regarding counseling. I'm so excited to be back in this role, I'm a humble guide, and so grateful for all the of excitement this service is getting.

While you may reach out on Facebook to inquire about availability, I am requiring phone calls to determine if it is a good fit and to schedule.

Here's why: this service is not a good fit for everyone and I need to speak to you to know that. While many people are very comfortable with text and messenger, I believe you lose too much in context, and a phone call will allow me the time to ask the questions I need to get through to be sure. Following the initial phone call I'm happy to schedule through text/messenger.

Please call 207-266-7172 to request an intake!

Marissa

Let me reintroduce myself!

My name is Marissa Steiner, LCSW, 200RYT, and witch. I graduated in 2015 with my masters in social work, worked for years in crisis mobile triage and as a school-based clinician until COVID sent us all home and I started studying herbalism, yoga, witchcraft. At the time I was struggling with complicated medical and mental health concerns and refused to make any changes, or slowdown, so my body did it for me. It's taken years, tons of my own treatment, but I'm finally back in a place where I feel ready to be a container again.

The COVID forced slow down provided the perfect opportunity to dig into self study, deepen my practice of yoga, and ultimately served as a catalyst where I knew everything needed to change. Piece by piece, brick by brick, I ripped down the old structures, studied the rubble, and started piecing myself back together.

Along the way, I stopped practicing American therapy (I kept my credentials and maintained my CEUs just in case), started focusing more on yoga, and realistically spent the last 5 years working on ways to "bridge the gap" between the Western and Eastern modalities that I used to consider seperate- they're not. They're one in the same.

And this is that. Starting in September, I'll be offering therapy again, but this isn't traditional American therapy. This is a blend of American therapy, yogic philosophy, and witchy whimsy.

These sessions are intended to be solution-focused, utilizing fewer sessions to identify and address specific issues.

Full disclosure: If you are seeking long-term therapy, struggle with safety concerns, or are unable to identify a specific issue, this treatment modality is not for you. These sessions are intended to focus on specific situations, life changes, symptoms of concern, and support you through those issues. Please contact 211 (mental health 411), call or text 988 (crisis support), or use your insurance portal to seek long term treatment and/or crisis services.

If you think this sounds like something that would benefit you, or someone you know, please reach out to schedule. All sessions will be in person at the Eight Limbs Center. Virtual sessions may be possible after intake on a case by case basis.

$40/hour: self pay only

Did you know that when I was struggling with 3 internal prolapses my pelvic floor PT suggested I do "inverted kegels"?

She meant with my hips elevated on a pillow or something simple but given I already had an inversion stool I leveled up the suggestion 😅

You don't need multiple prolapses to use this skill, inverting serves many benefits, including: decompression of the spine, building core strength, improves blood flow, and there have been studies to show inversions support reduction of depression symptoms. It's pretty incredible.

I don't incorporate this stool into my classes, but it is something that's available during Tea and Time at Eight Limbs Center, and I'd be happy to help you get comfortable with it. Just ask!
