This week, WolffPAC is excited to host Tamara Kasper, a dually certified speech-language pathologist and behavior analyst whose career has spanned more than 30 years. Her contributions to evidence-based practice, research, and mentorship have had a lasting impact on the autism community.

Our WolffPAC pups benefit tremendously from her collaboration with our behavior analysts, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from her expertise. Investing in our team’s professional growth is one of the many ways we continue to provide the highest quality care for the children and families we serve.

Welcome to WolffPAC, Tamara! 🐾💙

This week marked the first of many summer weeks of outdoor naturalistic teaching at WolffPAC! ☀️💙

It takes extra planning and support to create meaningful outdoor learning experiences, but seeing the kids engage makes it all worth it.

Fridays are usually the kids’ favorite day—they love transitioning outside, learning how to play with peers, and practicing important outdoor safety skills. Their least favorite parts? Transitioning back inside and staying within the cone boundaries. 😅 But that's okay—we welcome those moments because they create valuable opportunities to teach emotional regulation, flexibility, and coping skills.

A huge shout-out to our incredible team this week! They worked hard to ensure the kids stayed safe outdoors while continuing to meet their learning goals and complete their teaching opportunities.

Learning doesn't stop when we go outside—it just looks a little different. 🌳🛝☀️

P.S. We welcome parents to send in fruit popsicles on Fridays for all kids to enjoy on hot days during water play day.

Look at all of the fun from last year's outdoor session!

Next week (June 1st), we are starting our outdoor session. We ask that all WolffPAC families read our most recent and today's weekly emails, which outline what you need to bring for the kids to participate. Our kids get to have a part of their sessions outdoors to work on safety skills, interactive play, social communication, and transitioning. We would love for all kids to participate as long as permission slips have been returned to us, sunscreen (no aerosol) is packed, and extra clothes.

Please call our office if you have questions.

Many of us have written letters and made calls, but we must keep pushing. More than 10 years have passed, and families continue to be overlooked. Families are still fighting for adequate insurance coverage, consistent assessment standards, and the removal of arbitrary caps on care.

If we allow another year to pass without action on HB453, it will mean another year of families feeling unsupported, exhausted, and overwhelmed by constant barriers to accessing the services their children need.

Parents of children and teens with autism and all their family and friends, we need your help to get a second hearing for our Ohio House bill that simply cleans up and modernizes past approved legislation and rules for autism insurance coverage. Just email or call saying, "I am asking for your consideration for a second hearing on HB453 to simply clean up insurance coverage for autism treatments." Email or call Rep. Lampton by using the information below. Join us for any of our drop-ins next week for families, stakeholders, and providers to learn more about our bill. Just scan the QR code, and it will take you to our website for the Zoom link and videos about the bill.

All Ms. Kim wanted to do was print out documents but the printer had its own agenda and so did some of us… 🤣

Each year, we get the opportunity to witness more and more families attending. We love seeing them feel supported and confident to spend a day out at the ballgame.

We look forward to seeing you there.

As you start making summer vacation plans, don’t forget that WolffPAC has a sensory room at Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) to help make traveling a little easier for kids and families ✈️💙

The room includes:
• An interactive game
• A sensory wall
• A social story about traveling
• An airplane chair for practice and preparation

Even our team gets excited about traveling through CAK and seeing the space in use! If you visit the sensory room during your travels, be sure to send us your pictures—we love seeing our community out exploring the world! 🌎💙

The photo is of Ms. Casey on her recent travels.
