Weird, wildly imaginative, and laugh-out-loud funny. This book is absurd in all the best ways, with characters you won't soon forget.

Kevin Wilson has taken the craziest premise I have read to date; twins who spontaneously combust when upset, in a story that somehow blends outrageous humor with surprisingly tender themes of family and belonging.

A very unexpectedly delightful read in all the ways imaginable!

Literally the only thing left we can do that we are not having advertising shoved down our throats.

Here's your sign to read a book. Your nervous system will thank you!

One of the things that never gets discussed about grief and going through it are the times when right in the thick of it you find laughter and humor. And it feels wrong to do that or experience that. This book captures that so beautifully.

Dubbed as a tender, darkly funny novel about lifelong female friendship, mortality, and grief, this novel by Newman is one of the truest most accurate depictions of the parts of grief we don't always talk about.

Loved loved loved this book.

I happened upon this post recently and it made me stop, which is something that happens from time to time. You don't always know which post or which words will do that, and you don't always know why, but I saved it which typically happens if it impacts me in some way or if I want to get back to it l...

The Buzz...

Where I share books that are getting lots of buzz, show up on many must read lists and I believe you should add them to yours!

The Bright Years, Sarah Damoff's debut novel, is described as a multi-generational family drama spanning six decades in Texas that explores generational trauma, alcoholism, and the endurance of love. It is a buzz worthy debut novel for sure.

The Burning Side, her sophomore contribution, is described as a contemporary family drama about a fracturing marriage that hits a breaking point when a midnight house fire destroys the couple's home.

Personally, I enjoyed The Burning Side more and primarily because I found the characters and points of view more relatable.

Both good reads, and both worth the buzzworthy hype.

Easily in my top 3 authors of the year, Charles Martin literally stole my heart with this one. I actually read Chasing Fireflies first and was like oh goodness I love the way this man writes a story and because of that picked up When Crickets Cry and was like who is this word magician? Seriously, I fall in love with books that immerse me in the story right away, in the first few paragraphs and who tell stories that I don't want to end.

This is one of those books. Grief drives this book from start to finish and Annie will literally steal your heart.

An earlier this year read for me but one I still think about. 5 paws from Beans and I!

This book by Ellen Marie Wiseman—Author...

Where do I start. This book made me angrier than any book I can ever recall reading and left a pit in my stomach for days. Beautifully written and completely immersive storytelling, but the subject matter left me furious.

My great grandmother immigrated from Italy. It was all I could think about...what her actual first hours/days were like arriving at Ellis Island. I was so angry because land of the free home of the brave my ass. Sorry. And I learned that some really horrible things originated here, right here, in the good ol' U S of A, that I had been made to believe came from somewhere else entirely.

Anyway, this book was remarkable in every way. Fans of historical fiction this MUST be added to your TBR if you have not already read it. If you have please share your thoughts!

5 paws for Beans and I!

Impossible to video a little review about this book A Little Life. There is nothing little about it. Coming in at 816 pages it's an epic ride and one best taken in small increments.

A 4 paw read for me strictly because some of the chapters are intricate and hard to follow as well as pov changes that are clarified so you have to excavate a bit to figure out who is narrating.

It's beautiful, it's difficult, it's subject matter deeply unpalatable at times. I will think about Jude for a very very long time.

Curious if anyone else has read this?

I have not read a book this year that has hit as close to home for me as this one. It brought forth many personal emotions about my own path to self identity.

This 5 paw read by Laurie Frankel, Author is truly one of my favorites of the year.

While this story is focused on gender identity, it is just as much about parenting through that seemingly impossible to navigate path. The book explores how parents make decisions for their children, how those decisions can have unintended consequences, and how families learn and grow together.

I loved, laughed and cried with each one of these characters. Fantastic read.
