This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸
Because of their sacrifice, we have the freedom to live, work, raise our families, and serve our community every day. Freedom is never free, and we are deeply grateful.

At Menard Chiropractic Health Center, we also want to recognize and support those currently serving. All year round, we provide care for active duty military at no cost to them. It’s a small way for us to give back to the people who sacrifice so much for all of us.

Many years ago, I asked my mom to create this logo inspired by the poem A Work of Artifice by Marge Piercy. The poem talks about a bonsai tree that was carefully pruned and kept small, eventually believing that being tiny was simply its nature.

But what stayed with me was not the image of the pruned bonsai.

What inspired this logo was the idea of the bonsai tree growing naturally on the side of a mountain… strong, weathered, deeply rooted, and becoming exactly what it was created to be.

Over time, this logo began to carry an even deeper spiritual meaning for me. Life has a way of trying to “prune” people down through fear, pain, criticism, trauma, stress, sickness, and hardship. Sometimes the world tells us to stay small, quiet, limited, or broken.

But God’s design for us was never artificial limitation.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 says:

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord… He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.”

That verse perfectly reflects what this logo has come to symbolize for me:
Rootedness. Healing. Strength. Growth through hardship. Becoming who God created you to be.

Not forced into a mold.
Not cut down to fit expectations.
But deeply rooted and flourishing even through difficult seasons. 🌿
