Meet Amisha!

Amisha enjoys working with people who are looking for a therapy space where they can feel more understood without needing to overexplain themselves. She has experience working with neurodivergent clients and families, and her approach makes room for the different parts of your identity and experiences that shape how you move through the world.

That can include cultural expectations, immigration experiences, generational trauma, code switching, racism, religious identity, family pressure, and the experience of feeling caught between different worlds.

Not sure where to start? You don’t have to figure it out on your own. We’ll help you find the right fit.

Schedule a 15 minute consultation, and we’ll help connect you with the clinician who best fits your needs.

Nervous system regulation doesn’t mean you never feel anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed.

A healthy nervous system still responds to what’s happening around you.

The difference is in the ability to recover—to gradually return toward a more settled state after activation.

✨ Regulation isn’t constant calm. It’s the capacity to respond, recover, and find your way back.

Alright, let’s do it, my top 3 scenes.

Apparently, I have been paying attention to therapists on TV and in movies for quite a long time.

A few scenes have stayed with me all these years, and watching them now as a therapist, I have a different lens.

Looking at them now, some of these scenes actually got a surprising amount right.

What therapy scene from a movie or TV show has stuck with you?

Understanding why we do something can is quite powerful. But knowing isn’t always enough to change it.

Sometimes we have to practice a new response again and again before it starts to feel like ours.

That’s where the rewiring happens.

Your mind may understand before your body

Have you ever had an experience where you knew something logically... but your body JUST DID NOT seem to get the message?

Healing doesn't always happen on the same timeline within ourselves. Sometimes understanding comes first, and trust follows later.

I'm curious... has your mind ever known something long before your body believed it?

If you're looking for support, our team offers complimentary 15-minute consultations to help you explore whether therapy might be a good fit. In-person and virtual Virginia and D.C

Okay okay, it’s finally here and I am thrilled!

I can finally show you the cover of The Science and Soul of Yoga.

I love it! I’m really proud of it. More than anything, I hope this book has an impact. I hope something in these pages makes you understand yourself differently, or helps you come home to your body in a different way.

The Science and Soul of Yoga has been a passion project of mine for the past few years, but in many ways, it brings together much more than that.

This book is a synthesis of so much of what I’ve learned, witnessed, questioned, and experienced across two fields I love: mental health and yoga. It brings together story, science, neuroscience, trauma, movement, and the body, with the hope of bridging some of the space between what we understand intellectually and what we actually experience within ourselves.

I love this book! Haha, excuse my bias. I’m proud of it. And more than anything, I hope something in these pages offers you insight.

Knowing something intellectually doesn’t always mean your body believes it yet.

You can understand your patterns.
You can know you're safe.
You can recognize that you're reacting differently than you want to.

And still have emotional reactions.

That doesn't mean your healing isn't working.

✨ Transformation often happens when insight is followed by new experiences, repetition, and enough safety for your nervous system to learn something different.

Give yourself time to practice what you already know.

The Body Learns at Its Own Pace.

Did you know that your mind and body may not be working together?

One of the things I often tell clients is:

Your mind and your body don't always heal on the same timeline.

You can cognitively understand something long before your nervous system believes it. That doesn't mean you're failing, it could simply mean you need more time. Change often happens more slowly than insight.

Has there ever been a time when your mind knew you were safe, but your body hadn't quite caught up yet?

If you're looking for support, our team offers complimentary 15-minute consultations to help you explore whether nervous system therapy might be a good fit. Cick link in bio,

Your mind and your body don't always learn at the same pace.

You can know you're prepared.
You can know you're safe.
And still feel anxious.

That doesn't mean you're failing or that something is wrong with you.

Sometimes your nervous system simply needs more time—and more repeated experiences—to catch up with what your mind already knows.

✨ Healing isn't just changing your thoughts. It's helping your body learn safety, too.
