📽️ We loved spending time with Ruby and her family at Inova Children's – Ryan Park and hearing about their experience. Child Life Specialist Kate D. helped prepare Ruby for her blood draw and supported her throughout the visit. Buzzy, a bee-shaped device, helped make the blood draw more comfortable. 🐝

Setting the standard for excellence in child safety. On , we’re proud to recognize the Inova pediatric teams leading TEN-4-FACESp implementation, an evidence-based bruising screening tool that helps clinicians identify concerning bruising patterns in young children.

Our Inova Loudoun Hospital team was recently recognized by Joint Commission surveyors as a best-practice site. 💙

Meet Jessica G., a pediatric oncology nurse navigator at Inova Peterson Life with Cancer. With 20 years in pediatric oncology care, Jessica says the little moments can be the most powerful – a smile, a belly laugh or seeing a child's personality shine through. 💛

Most people find it difficult not only to think about childhood cancer but also to talk about it. Jessica says open conversations can help families feel seen and supported.

These three words describe Tammy's experience as a parent of a child with sickle cell. Her journey has taught her resilience, strengthened her advocacy for her son, D'Angelo, and helped her appreciate the good days and celebrate every victory.

Tammy hopes others understand that sickle cell disease is often an invisible illness. Just because someone looks healthy on the outside doesn't mean they aren't living with pain or facing daily challenges.
