Grab a mirror and check your tongue!

A lingual tongue tie may look small… but it can have a BIG impact. 👅

When the tongue is restricted, it can affect:
• Nasal breathing
• Sleep quality
• Speech clarity
• Swallowing patterns
• Feeding and chewing
• Jaw and facial development
• Neck and body tension

The tongue is meant to rest on the roof of the mouth and move freely. When it can’t, the body often compensates in ways people don’t even realize.

A proper tongue tie release, combined with myofunctional therapy, can help improve tongue mobility and support healthier breathing, swallowing, sleep, and oral function. 💙

Not every tongue tie needs treatment — but when symptoms are present, addressing the restriction can be life-changing.

Sometimes the little things we notice every day can point to a bigger picture. If your child is over the age of 2 and you’re seeing any of the following signs, it may be worth taking a closer look at their oral development: I can help you decide. 😊

✔️ Persistent pacifier or thumb use
✔️ Struggling with harder food
✔️ Excessive drooling or unclear speech
✔️ Mouth breathing or restless sleep

Myofunctional therapy is exercises, but it’s also retraining the muscles and patterns that affect how we breathe, eat, sleep, and thrive. 💙

Your tongue is a muscular AND respiratory organ! Have you ever thought about it like that? It is so necessary for us to function and have our tongue work correctly.

It is needed for -
1. Optimal craniofacial growth and development.
2. Chewing
3. Swallowing
4. Speaking
5. Keeping the upper airway open during sleep.

Did you know that Myofunctional Therapy can help with tongue position, swallowing and correct muscle control? That all helps you and your child’s ears!

Did you know that the muscle muscles, bones, and tissues that control breathing, sleeping, and swallowing also drain fluid from the ears.

Correct facial movements help a person‘s ears function in a more healthy way!

I am so passionate about tongue position and nasal breathing - and this is a BIG reason why….

👉 Nitric oxide is naturally released when we breathe through our nose.

So when we shift from mouth breathing to nasal breathing—something we focus on in Myofunctional Therapy—we’re not just improving oral posture or airway function… we’re actually supporting a key system that impacts overall health.

✨ Better tongue posture
✨ Stronger, more functional muscles
✨ Consistent nasal breathing

All of that = a body that can function the way it was designed to.
