We are proud to share that members of the UConn Internal Medicine Residency Community Health Alliance Track were recognized as part of the David R. Kennedy Community Champions Award on May 20!

Our Internal Medicine residents who participate in the Street Medicine experience with Charter Oak Health Center were collectively honored alongside other community partners as part of the Greater Hartford Street Medicine Collaborative.

This recognition celebrates the power of collaboration to meet patients where they are and provide care to individuals experiencing homelessness in our community.

Accepting the award on behalf of the UConn Internal Medicine Residency Community Health Alliance Track were our Chief Resident Dr. Lara Melo Soares Pinho de Carvalho and resident Dr. Anusha Parisapogu, pictured with Corinne Plaisir, Director of Healthcare for the Homeless at Charter Oak Health Center and our chief liaison for this work. Also pictured is our intern Dr. Muaz Rashid with other members of the Street Medicine team.
