SPORTS PARENTS AND ATHLETES- This one's for YOU!
THE PAIN IS GONE. GREAT! BUT ARE YOU/YOUR ATHLETE ACTUALLY READY TO PLAY?

No pain doesn't always mean game-ready.

Running. Jumping. Cutting. Landing. Changing direction. Your athlete's body needs to be prepared for more than just feeling better.

At Potential Therapy Services, we go beyond asking, "Does it still hurt?"

Through advanced technology like DorsaVi movement testing and RunDNA gait analysis, our physical therapists can evaluate how athletes move, identify potential weaknesses, and help guide a safer, more confident return to sports.

🧡 Because getting back in the game is one thing. Being ready for it is another. Ask you PT what is BEST for you.

🏆 PARENTS & COACHES, WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

What's the biggest challenge when an athlete returns after an injury?

A. Fear of Reinjury
B. Wanting to return too soon
C. Knowing if they're actually ready
D. Regaining confidence

🧡 OUR TINIEST PATIENT. ONE VERY SPECIAL JOURNEY.

Sometimes the smallest patients leave the biggest impressions on our hearts. 🧡

Recently, our PT Maria had the incredible privilege of treating Potential Therapy Services' youngest patient ever for a condition called torticollis.

👶 What is torticollis?
Infant torticollis occurs when tightness in the neck muscles causes a baby to tilt their head to one side or have difficulty turning their head in both directions.

And here's where this little one's story gets special...

After just THREE visits with Maria, we're already celebrating some pretty big milestones!

🧡 Lifting his head during tummy time.

🧡 Turning his head to look left.

🧡 Improving his head and neck positioning during bottle feeding.

These may seem like small movements, but for this little guy and his family, they're meaningful steps forward.

For Maria, being part of these early milestones has been an incredible blessing. And for all of us at Potential, it's a beautiful reminder that physical therapy isn't just about recovering from injuries. Sometimes, it's about helping someone discover what their little body can do for the very first time.

From our tiniest patients to our oldest, every milestone matters. 🧡

We're grateful this sweet family has trusted us to be part of their journey.

👋 MEET NIKKI GILMORE, PTA
Potential Therapy Services | Farmington

From helping little ones reach important developmental milestones to supporting athletes recovering from knee injuries and patients rebuilding strength after hip or knee replacements, Nikki enjoys working with patients through many different stages of life.

Her areas of interest include pediatrics, sports injury rehabilitation, and lower-extremity joint replacements, with a special focus on helping patients improve mobility, regain strength, and return to the activities that matter most.

Her goal? Help patients of all ages build confidence in their movement and celebrate every milestone along the way!

💬 ASK NIKKI ABOUT: Torticollis, developmental delays, ACL/MCL/meniscus injuries, and recovery following hip or knee replacements.

🧡 Did you know physical therapy can help everyone from infants with developmental delays to adults recovering from joint replacement surgery?

🧡 WHEN DID YOU START PLANNING YOUR DAY AROUND YOUR KNEES?

Maybe you park closer. Avoid the stairs. Push yourself out of a chair. Or skip an outing because there's too much walking.

Little by little, knee arthritis can change how you live without you even realizing it.

But you don't have to keep giving things up.

While Potential Therapy Services cannot cure arthritis, our physical therapists work one-on-one with patients to improve strength, mobility, and everyday movement.

🧡 What's ONE thing knee pain has made you stop doing or do differently? Tell us in the comments so can offer solutions!

WAIT… you go to physical therapy for THAT?! 👀

October is National Physical Therapy Month, so we’re CELEBRATING by showing you just how much physical therapy can actually do, that may have never crossed your mind!

Most people think PT means recovering from surgery, a bad knee or a sports injury.
But headaches? Vertigo? Pelvic floor problems? Getting safely back to work?

Yep. PT does a whole lot more than most people realize. 🧡
Watch to see how many surprise you.

👇 Then tell us: Which one made you say, “WAIT… PT DOES THAT?!”
Or drop something you’ve always wondered if physical therapy could help with. One of our therapists may answer your question in an upcoming post.

🤕 WHAT IF YOUR HEADACHE ISN’T STARTING IN YOUR HEAD?

Yep. This is another one of those “I didn’t know physical therapy did THAT” things.

Some headaches can be connected to stiffness or restricted movement in the neck, muscle tension, or tightness through the neck and shoulders.

That’s why your Potential therapist may be interested in a whole lot more than just where your head hurts.

Depending on what’s contributing to your symptoms, treatment may include Myofascial Release (MFR), Muscle Energy Techniques (MET), joint mobilization, dry needling, strain counterstrain or craniosacral therapy. 🧡

The goal? Address what may be contributing to the headache, not simply where you're feeling it.

QUICK HEADACHE CHECK 👇
Give yourself 1 point for each one that sounds familiar:

🔸 Stiff or tight neck
🔸 Tight shoulders
🔸 Headaches after computer or phone time
🔸 Trouble comfortably turning your head
🔸 Pain or tension near the base of your skull

Honestly, What’s your number? 0–5? 👇

⬇ Drop it in the comments. You may not be the only one surprised by the connection and we can all learn from one another!

QUICK QUESTION... DID YOU JUST ROLL YOUR NECK OR RUB YOUR SHOULDERS? 👀

You know the routine.

You wake up stiff.
Turning your head in the car isn't as easy as it should be.
By afternoon, you're rubbing that same spot again.

So you blame your pillow. Your desk. Your phone. Stress.

But when neck pain keeps coming back, maybe the better question isn't “What did I do?”

It's “WHY does this keep happening?”

That's where physical therapy can help.

At Potential Therapy Services, your PT looks at your movement, mobility, muscles and joints to help determine what may be contributing to your symptoms, then builds treatment around YOU.

And now we have to know...

What's YOUR biggest neck-pain culprit?

A. My pillow 😴
B. Phone/computer 💻
C. Driving 🚗
D. Stress 😵‍💫
E. Honestly? Existing. 😂

👇 Drop your letter below.

Neck pain becoming your “normal”? It does NOT have to be this way! Give Potential a call. Appointments are typically available within 2–5 business days, with insurance and cash-pay options available. 🧡
