Ms. Piel brings 18 years of nursing experience caring for patients in hospital, public health and primary care settings.
As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, she is passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centered care and helping individuals navigate their healthcare journey with confidence.
Her dedication, clinical experience, and commitment to serving our community make her a wonderful addition to our team. We are excited for our patients to benefit from her knowledge and caring approach.

Your skin remembers every sunny day; A childhood afternoon at the pool. Weekend ball games. Summer vacations.Working outdoors. Gardening.
The effects of sun exposure build up over a lifetime. While one sunburn may heal, the damage caused by UV light can accumulate over the years, increasing the risk of skin cancer.
The good news is that it's never too late to protect your skin;

* Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen
(SPF 30 or higher).
Wear a wide-brimmed hat and
protective clothing.
• Seek shade, especially between 10 a.m.and 4 p.m.
Pay attention to new or changing spots on your skin and talk to your healthcare provider if something doesn't look right.
The choices you make today can help protect your skin for years to come. Small habits really do make a difference.

This Fourth of July is especially meaningful as we celebrate 250 years since the Declaration of Independence.

At Four Corners Cancer Center, we are proud to partner with educational institutions, including UNM, San Juan College and the Farmington Municipal Schools Work-Based Learning Program, to provide internship opportunities for students interested in healthcare careers.

Many students begin with us as high school juniors and seniors and continue their journey throughout college, returning during school breaks to gain additional hands-on experience in a healthcare setting.

Some opportunities are paid and many students build lasting relationships that can lead to future career opportunities when they return to the Four Corners area after completing their education.

We are grateful to our educational partners and proud of every student who chooses to learn and grow with us. Investing in local talent today helps strengthen the healthcare workforce of tomorrow.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Ulrich to Four Corners Cancer Center.
Dr. Ulrich brings a compassionate approach to Oncology and Hematology, supported by extensive academic and clinical training. He completed his Medical Oncology fellowship and Internal Medicine training at the University of Kansas Medical Center and earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ulrich has served in clinical leadership, research and multidisciplinary care roles with a continued focus on thoughtful, evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care.
His commitment to serving patients and communities reflects the values we hold at FCCC.
We are honored to have him join our team and continue advancing cancer care for the Four Corners region.

June is National Cancer Survivor Month, a time to honor and celebrate the strength, resilience and courage of cancer survivors everywhere.
This month, we would like to shine a special spotlight on Mrs. Duncan, who recently celebrated an incredible milestone; 25 years of survivorship. For those 25 years, Mrs. Duncan has been a cherished patient at Four Corners Cancer Center, allowing us the privilege of walking alongside her throughout her journey.
Mrs. Duncan embodies a spirit that inspires everyone around her.
We are honored to have been part of her journey and grateful for the example she sets for our community.
To Mrs. Duncan and to all cancer survivors: your stories inspire us every day. Thank you for reminding us that there is hope, strength and life beyond a cancer diagnosis.
