WelcomeHealth: Northwest Arkansas' Free Health Center

WelcomeHealth: Northwest Arkansas' Free Health Center Northwest Arkansas' premier free health center! We are here for the uninsured and underinsured who are in need of quality healthcare at no-cost.

When we first opened the doors of the Northwest Arkansas Free Health Center in 1986 in South Fayetteville, it was for one purpose: to welcome all residents of Northwest Arkansas with consistent, quality healthcare. We were determined to make certain that there were no barriers, financial or otherwise, to that welcome. Our name changed to WelcomeHealth in 2015. We moved to our current facility on W

oolsey Avenue to accommodate the need for more services and space. We are excited about these changes and how they have improved our patients’ experience, but our mission remains the same. All are welcome here, all are treated with respect and dignity and all receive the best care available. We are here for the uninsured, underinsured and the insured. You can rest assured that we will welcome you regardless of your ability to pay or insurance status. All must meet our income guidelines (cannot make more than 200% above federal poverty level), and that criteria can be determined by a quick call to our helpful front desk staff.

Thank you, Beer & Hymns!

This April, WelcomeHealth was selected as Beer & Hymns' nonprofit partner. We appreciate everyone who attended, sang along, and donated. We raised $7632! These funds will be used to ensure that neighbors facing financial hardship, and barriers to care can access medical and dental services.

We appreciate Beer & Hymns for creating a space where people can have fun, connect with others, and make a meaningful impact on our community.

For 40 years, WelcomeHealth has been committed to providing no-cost medical and dental care to our neighbors across Northwest Arkansas.

We are honored to celebrate this milestone and grateful to be featured in the latest issue of CitiScapes Magazine as we continue expanding access to healthcare in the community we love.

A huge shoutout to the Fayetteville Junior Civic League for their incredible and ongoing commitment to our community here in Fayetteville!

Because of partners like FJCL, our doors stay open, and our Fayetteville neighbors can receive healthcare. That is why we are here. That is why we keep our doors open. We could not do this without you.

WelcomeHealth is excited to share some big news: our leadership team is growing! For over 40 years, our mission has been to make exceptional, no-cost healthcare accessible to everyone in our community who needs it most. This expansion is another way we’re honoring that commitment and building on the work we’ve done together.

We welcome Deanna Shannon, RDH, as Director of Clinical Programs and Quality Assurance, and Evan Clower, MSW, to the team to grow Development & Community Engagement.

Deanna Shannon brings over a decade of leadership in nonprofit dental healthcare. As an Authorized OSHA trainer, she has expertise in clinical operations, compliance, volunteer management, and risk mitigation. Before joining WelcomeHealth, she served in leadership roles at Samaritan Community Center Dental Clinic, where she helped direct and expand services for low-income and uninsured patients. Shannon’s background in quality improvement, regulatory readiness, staff development, and strategic planning will play a vital role in WelcomeHealth’s clinical infrastructure and patient care systems.

Evan Clower joins us with a strong background in nonprofit leadership, behavioral health, advocacy, outreach, and community engagement. She recently completed graduate clinical training through Arisa Health and Circle of Life Hospice while earning a Master of Social Work from the University of Arkansas. She previously served as Executive Director of Micah’s House NWA, where she led operations, fundraising, community partnerships, marketing, and organizational development. Her experience in community awareness and mission-driven engagement will help expand our philanthropic and community partnerships.

Deanna and Evan each bring heart, vision, and commitment to WeclomeHealth, ensuring our capacity to serve more patients, foster community partnerships, and elevate public awareness of available services for those most in need.
