Today we honor Juneteenth, the day in 1865 when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and the news of freedom finally reached the last enslaved Americans. πŸ’™ More than 160 years later, the work continues. Health disparities rooted in historical inequity are still very real, and closing those gaps is something the medical community must take seriously. At MANA, equality and equity guide how we show up for every patient, in every exam room, every day. Learn more about Juneteenth's history at the link below.

June is National Safety Month. In the first three decades of life, more people in the U.S. die from injuries and violence than from any other cause. Millions more carry the physical, emotional, and financial weight of those injuries for the rest of their lives. These deaths are preventable, and the research backs it up.

This month, we're raising awareness because awareness saves lives. This month we're talking about safety because the more people know, the more lives we protect. On the road, at work, at home β€” it starts with awareness.
