If you, or someone you love, are considering hearing aids, this is a great opportunity to take a deep dive into the diagnostic and treatment process with me.

OLLI is the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Arkansas. Their mission is to provide a community of adults with a lifelong learning venue that promotes intellectual and cultural growth through exploration and discussion via diverse, high quality and affordable educational programs. You are all invited to my OLLI audiology seminar on December 1st. Membership to OLLI is not required for participants. During that time, I will discuss all aspects of hearing aids from diagnosis to treatment. There is a small fee for participants, but you will be provided a wealth of information beneficial for treatment of hearing loss and tinnitus.

Once a year, we get the pleasure of gifting someone a set of hearing aids. This year we were able to help someone at one of our favorite places: Springdale Senior Activity and Wellness Center. Leonard was found to be one of the most deserving recipients we’ve had the pleasure of working with for the Gift of Hearing. He has been hearing impaired most of his life. Like a lot of people without insurance benefits for hearing aids, he found the high cost of amplification to be a road block for better hearing. We are so pleased to help Leonard. Special thanks to ReSound for the opportunity to give these premium level devices. We are all in this together and you offer a great partnership!

Our goal has always been to bring meaningful technology to our patients—and today we’re proud to share something big. We gifted an Auracast transmitter to the Walton Arts Center to help make performances more accessible for people with hearing loss.

Auracast lets one audio source broadcast directly to an unlimited number of compatible devices, giving hearing aid wearers clearer, more immersive sound. While places like Las Vegas and Orlando have had Auracast for some time, NWA now has two venues using it: WAC and United Methodist Church—both on Dickson Street!

We hope this inspires more venues in our area to invest in technology that supports better hearing for everyone.
