At 10:20 am, new Truck 9, a 2026 Pierce Enforcer 107' rear-mount aerial, was placed into service. At 11:25 am, Truck 9 responded to its first call - a working structure fire in the 400 block of Hallmark Road.

Truck 9 was the first arriving unit and reported smoke and flames visible from a single-story, single-family residence. An aggressive interior attack was made, and the fire was successfully extinguished with no injuries to civilians or firefighters reported. Damage to the home was estimated at approximately $30,000.

All of Fayetteville's Truck companies are equipped with pumps, booster tanks, and preconnected handlines, enabling firefighters to rapidly and aggressively put water on a fire in the event that a Truck company is the first arriving unit.

TWO-ALARM HOTEL FIRE WITH RESCUES MADE

Just prior to 5am, the multiple units from the Fayetteville Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a hotel on fire at 4105 Sycamore Dairy Road. Engine 6 arrived on scene just 4 and a half minutes after being dispatched and found fire showing from the roofline of a three-story hotel, with a heavy fire located on the C side of the building. Multiple occupants were rescued from exterior windows via ladders. The fire is now under control. One person was transported to the hospital by EMS for treatment. Additionally, 65 occupants have been displaced from the building.

Responding units: Engine 6, Truck 6, Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 4, Engine 5, Truck 8, Truck 9, Squad 3, Squad 4, Squad 5, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Battalion 2, Air 1, Car 3, Car 7.

THREE WORKING HOUSE FIRES THIS AFTERNOON

Fayetteville Firefighters, along with their partners from mutual aid departments, battled three significant structure fires today shortly after lunch. In one of these fires, an occupant was found and removed from the structure by firefighters.

12:07 PM: Multiple Fayetteville Fire Department units were dispatched to a report of a structure fire on Wilder Drive in the Water's Edge neighborhood. Engine 8 arrived on scene first and reported heavy fire showing from two separate single-story houses. Responding units worked diligently to extinguish both fires, with significant damage reported to both structures. One dog was removed from one of the structures. The Red Cross was requested to assist the occupants of both homes.

Responding Units: Engine 8, Engine 6, Engine 12, Engine 15, Engine 9, Engine 4, Truck 6, Truck 9, Squad 5, Squad 17, Squad 4, Rescue 2, Air 1, Battalion 2.

2:19 pm: Multiple units from the Fayetteville Fire Department as well as neighboring county departments were dispatched to a report of a residential structure fire on Empress Lane. Engine 17 arrived on scene and found heavy fire showing from a two-story, single-family residence with report of at least one person inside. Under heavy fire conditions, members of the Cumberland Road Fire Department, assisted by Fayetteville Fire Department Truck 6, performed a VEIS and located and removed one resident. Due to the extensive volume of fire, additional units were requested to complete extinguishment.

Initial responding units: Engine 17, Engine 4, Cumberland Road Engine 512, Stoney Point Engine 1311, Truck 6, Hope Mills Truck 2152, Squad 1, Squad 3, Air 1, Battalion 3, Car 5, Car 1.
