Can women take Vi**ra? That is the topic of my new Substack out today.
Libido and blood flow are not the same thing. Vi**ra and Cialis work by increasing blood flow.
Also — these drugs aren’t FDA-approved for women. Not even close. (Testosterone is actually closer to approval than PDE5 inhibitors are. We don’t have separate FDA approvals for antidepressants or blood pressure meds by s*x. Just saying.)
But here’s the thing: they’re cheap, they’re safe, and the upside probably outweighs the downside. So if a patient wants to try one, I say let’s trial it.
Sexual health and cardiac health are two very different stories about the same drug.
These pills don’t just work on the ge****ls. Sound familiar? Testosterone doesn’t just work on libido either — it works on all your cells too. Funny how medications work everywhere in the body but the humans give them such a narrow window of “approval”
