Healing through Connecting

Healing through Connecting Holding sacred space for healing and transformation.

I walk beside you through life’s layers honoring your story, tending the tender places, and helping you release what no longer serves as you reconnect with your inner wisdom. Dr. Michaelene Ruhl earned her doctoral degree in Humanistic, Transpersonal, and Clinical Psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology. She has been in private practice for over 14 years holding safe and sacred space for

people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other life challenges, including supporting those who have experienced plant medicine journeys via immersion and integration sessions. In addition to her private practice and family constellation workshop schedule, she creates intimate, safe and sacred spaces for people to learn, grow, and heal through sacred immersion training programs for holding safe and sacred space for psychedelic immersion and integration ceremony as well as family constellations facilitation. Michaelene has given several talks and presentations including systemic constellations and creating safe, sacred and trauma informed space, to groups at psychological conferences, workshops, and seminars. Michaelene believes everyone has a right to belong and that connection is the key to healing and as Anais Nin has confirmed about connection, “Each contact with a human being is so rare, so precious, one should preserve it.” Being deeply passionate about her work, Michaelene states, “It is my honor to hold sacred space and be of service, supporting you on your path of exploration and healing through connecting.” To learn more about Michaelene, please see her website at www.constellationhealingarts.com.

"I didn't think I was ready."

She said it quietly, the way people do when they've been carrying something for a long time. Eleven years of the same grief, folded into the same shape, tucked into the same corner of her chest.

She thought readiness meant clarity. Knowing exactly what she was healing. Having tried a lot of other things first. Arriving with no fear.

None of that is true.

Readiness is not a threshold you cross before the work begins. It is something the work helps you find. Plant-spirit medicine does not ask for your certainty. The medicine meets you where you are, and part of what unfolds in ceremony is the remembering itself. Your roots hold more than you know, and the plant simply helps you feel your way back to them.

You are allowed to arrive scared and nervous. You are allowed to arrive uncertain. You are allowed to arrive without having read the right books or tried the right therapies or figured out what belongs to you and what you inherited.

You are allowed to arrive exactly as you are.

If something in you has been quietly waiting, please know Bailey and I hold this as safe and sacred space. There is no version of you that needs to be assembled before you come. 🌿

With warmth,
Michaelene & Bailey

Some of us learned to hold ourselves before anyone else knew how to hold us.

We became the steady one in a house where there was much chaos or silence. We swam alone in our own fear, our own panic, and yet offered ourselves to keep the peace, be a good child, don't get in the way, and stay quiet to not disrupt the apple cart that was our family system. We knew that the love in various ways wasn't quite available from the adults around us. That is not a small thing. That is a young one doing the best they can, sacred work often alone, in the middle of chaos.

If you are the one in your family that felt and continues to feel the panic, the anxiety, the old fear, and are now or have been continuing to turn toward it rather than away, you are picking up the healing your parents, and perhaps their parents, could not carry in their own lifetimes.

In family constellation work, we see this a lot. The inner child is not asking to be fixed. They are asking to be seen. They are asking to be heard. They are asking for the safety that was missing then, offered now from within.

You were never too much. You were a young one immersed in grown-up issues with the only tools you had. And the fact that you're still here, wanting to do your work, willing to explore love and being loved, is inspiring.

We'd love to hold safe and sacred space for your exploration.

With warmth,

Dr. Michaelene 🌿

A recent Oregon pilot study, led by former NHL player Daniel Carcillo, gave psilocybin to eight athletes (boxers, MMA fighters, BJJ practitioners, surfers, bobsledders) with long-term concussion symptoms.

Using EEG scans and cognitive tests, researchers saw more balanced frontal lobe activity, stronger P3 signals (better focus and decisions), and drops in depression, anxiety and PTSD.

The changes suggest improved energy distribution in the brain, hinting psilocybin may repair metabolic dysfunction (glucose disruption, mitochondrial damage, inflammation) caused by TBI, not just neurons.

Emerging research links psilocybin to metabolic pathways, inflammation, and gut microbiome shifts, pointing to whole-body repair rather than symptom masking.

The paper isn't peer-reviewed and the sample is tiny. But coordinator Nige Netzband called it compelling evidence of recovery.

For millions with mild TBI, blast injuries, or treatment-resistant depression, the implications could be enormous. We're watching mushrooms become medicine in real time.

When someone asks what a session costs, they're really asking a deeper question: what am I being asked to trust?

That question deserves an honest answer.

The number reflects more than the time we spend together. It holds nearly two decades of clinical training, a doctorate in Transpersonal, Humanistic, and Clinical Psychology, master's degrees, and years of apprenticeship with plant-spirit medicine traditions that ask to be honored, not rushed.

It also holds the quiet work before you arrive and the integration care after. Tending the medicine, preparing the space, holding you in awareness long before we sit down together.

Paying for a session is not paying for an outcome. It's contributing to a container. A trauma-informed, ceremonially-held space where your roots can be witnessed without being hurried.

We also believe sacred work should be accessible. We offer payment plan options and military discounts for those called to this path who need a gentler entry point. Please reach out. These conversations are welcome.

If the investment gives you pause, that pause is worth honoring too. Sometimes the timing is now. Sometimes it's later. Both are sacred.

With warmest wishes and deep gratitude,
Dr. Michaelene

We spend so much of our lives trying to fix what we think is broken, when what we really need is a quiet space to remember who we have always been. 🌿

Healing is rarely a solitary path. It is a slow, sacred return to connection, a remembering of the roots that support us and the lineages we carry. In Family Constellation work and plant-spirit medicine at Constellation Healing Arts, we hold space for the parts of ourselves that have felt cast out, allowing them to finally come home.

Bradley Savino shared his experience of stepping into this shared container. He described it as a wonderful space maintained by true professionals who care deeply about the healing of humanity.

To be witnessed in your truth, without the pressure to perform wellness or certainty, is where the softening begins. When we realize we do not have to carry the weight alone, the heavy patterns we have inherited can finally begin to untangle.

Every soul has an inherent right to belong. If you are seeking a place to rest, to look deeper, and to remember your strength, our doors are open. We are here when you are ready.
