🎨 KanDu Artist of the Month: Jordan! 🎨
This month, we’re excited to highlight Jordan and his amazing creativity! 🖍️✨
Jordan enjoys sketching characters and animals, and this month he took his artwork to a whole new level by creating his very own collection of sketches. With some help from staff, his drawings were bound together to create something truly special — the first-ever KanDu coloring book! 📖🎨
Jordan is incredibly proud of his work, and we couldn’t be happier to see him share his creativity with others. Even more exciting… Jordan sold the very first KanDu coloring book! 🎉❤️

♻️💙 Giving Back While Supporting Recycling Efforts! 💙♻️

A group from our Studio program volunteered to assist the members of Hancock Federal Credit Union during their paper recycling event. Participants helped by going to vehicles, collecting paper donations, and transporting them to the recycling totes.

The collected paper will then be shredded by our clients at the CR99 facility and compressed into bales before being sent to a recycling center in Toledo. This is a great example of teamwork, community involvement, and creating meaningful work opportunities while helping the environment.

Thank you to Hancock Federal Credit Union for allowing us to be part of this wonderful community event!

✈️🚒🚜 What an Amazing Day of Learning and Exploration! 🚜🚒✈️

Encore had the opportunity to tour the Findlay Airport and learn about the many vehicles and equipment that help keep our community running safely and efficiently. Participants enjoyed getting an up-close look at an airplane, fuel truck, fire truck, and even a John Deere tractor!

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to share their knowledge and make this experience possible. Community outings like these help us learn, explore new interests, and connect with the world around us.

🌱🌻 Community Gardens Volunteer Day 🌻🌱

Our KanDu Studio Group had a wonderful time learning and volunteering at the Hancock County Community Gardens! Participants helped prepare garden beds, plant, rake, and explore the many ways gardens benefit our community. Others found inspiration in the beautiful surroundings and expressed their creativity through art.

We are grateful for opportunities like this that allow us to learn new skills, give back to our community, and enjoy meaningful experiences together.

🏠✨ We had the opportunity to visit and learn about our county's Smart House! Participants explored the many features designed to promote independence, safety, and accessibility for individuals of all abilities.

From adaptive technology in the kitchen to innovative tools throughout the home, everyone enjoyed seeing how technology can support daily living and increase independence. We even had the chance to experience a sensory room and learn about various smart devices that can make everyday tasks easier.

Thank you to the Smart House team for providing such an informative and interactive experience. We learned so much and had a great time exploring all the possibilities!
