The easiest natural bug repellant is probably already in your kitchen 🤯

Burning coffee grounds works as a natural bug repellent to keep away mosquitoes and other bugs. The smoke and smell is unpleasant to them and they are more likely to stay away!

If mosquitoes really like you, burn a citronella candle or dab a few drops of lavender essential on your skin. Both these scents deter mosquitoes 🦟

When you prioritize sleep, your body can do what it needs to heal

Sleep is medicine but we often neglect it. Late nights, screens before bed, inconsistent routines and eating before bed can all interrupt our sleep cycles. Getting 8+ hours of sleep every night is essential for your body’s functions.

Creating a bedtime routine that you can stick to is the key. Consistent bedtimes, sleepy time tea, no screens for an hour before bed, and light stretching can all improve your quality of sleep. Our best tip for consistently great sleep? Taking Dr. Logan’s sleep protocol. These products help regulate your sleep cycle so you wake up feeling refreshed rather than groggy.

Building muscle after 50 takes more than just lifting weights.

As we age, maintaining muscle becomes one of the most important things we can do for strength, balance, mobility, and long-term independence. The right training program is the foundation, but a few key supplements may help support your results.

Creatine is one of the most well-researched supplements for muscle health. A daily dose of 5 grams can help support strength, power, and lean muscle when combined with resistance training. Emerging research also suggests creatine may support brain health as we age.

Strength training 2–3 times per week is another key piece of the puzzle. Exercises that challenge your fast-twitch muscle fibers—like explosive movements that are appropriate for your fitness level—can help maintain power and function over time.

For additional muscle support, products like MyoStim combine creatine with ingredients such as leucine to support muscle protein synthesis. Whole Body Trio provides creatine, collagen, and electrolytes in one formula to support hydration, connective tissue, and recovery around your workouts. These supplements are available through our pharmacy, and we can help you choose the option that best fits your goals.

If you're always drinking water but still feel dehydrated, electrolytes may be what's missing

Hydration isn't just about how much water you drink. Your body also relies on minerals, often called electrolytes, to help regulate fluid balance and support normal cell function.

Minerals like magnesium and potassium play important roles in hydration, especially if you're active, sweat frequently, or aren't getting enough of these nutrients through your diet.

Products like Trace Minerals Power Pak provide electrolytes and trace minerals to help replenish what your body uses throughout the day. Another option is Quinton®, a purified seawater mineral solution that naturally contains a broad spectrum of trace minerals. Both are available through our pharmacy for those looking to support healthy hydration.

If you constantly feel thirsty despite drinking enough water, it's worth looking beyond water alone and considering whether your electrolyte intake is meeting your body's needs.

A healthy garden isn't just productive, it's planned for every season.

One of the biggest mistakes home gardeners make is planting once, harvesting once, and calling it a season. With succession planting, you can keep fresh vegetables coming for months instead of weeks.

By planting new crops every few weeks and including cool-season vegetables in the fall, it's possible to enjoy fresh food from the garden much longer, even into early spring. Perennial crops like asparagus and raspberries add even more value by producing year after year.

A diverse garden also means a more diverse plate. Leafy greens, beets, broccoli, peas, garlic, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, and other colorful vegetables all provide different vitamins, minerals, fiber, and plant compounds that support overall health.

Whether you have a large backyard or a small raised bed, thoughtful planning can help you harvest more food, reduce waste, and enjoy fresh, homegrown produce for much of the year.
