Many parents think you need a large supply of frozen milk before returning to work. A small supply is usually enough to get started while you continue pumping each workday. Freezing a little milk at a time, such as 3 ounces, can help reduce stress and prevent waste. If you need help with a going back to work or school plan, reach out to your local WIC program! https://www.mass.gov/doc/breastfeeding-and-going-back-to-work-or-school/download

Packing lunches for daycare or preschool this week? Keep those meals out of the "danger zone!" 🥪 Germs love to grow on perishable foods when they sit between 40°F and 140°F. To keep your child's WIC string cheese, turkey sandwiches, and yogurt safe until lunchtime, always pack them in an insulated lunch bag. Toss in at least two cold sources—like frozen gel packs or a frozen water bottle. ❄️
