The past 12 days have been so humbling. Every time the door opens I am so happy to see everyone that has come to find us!!! It’s like a party that never ends.
This Saturday a legend in Natural Foods came out from Cambridge to visit our store and have lunch in our new location.. he is the co-founder of Cambridge Naturals now led by the second generation, his daughter + son in law. They are carrying on the legacy of one of the best + first natural foods stores in Massachusetts. Michael is truly a pioneer in the local and independent movement. Their store still thrives after 52 years and has stood strong even with countless Whole Foods and competition popping up all around them. … thank you so much Michael, your friendship throughout the years has meant so much. You are a true inspiration and guide on how own a local and independent business with kindness and grace. Where ever we seem to meet from a March in Boston, the Rodale Institute in PA to the aisles at an INFRA conference in Minneapolis you always have time to talk and pause for a moment. Thanks again for coming out to wish us well on our next adventure. And if anyone of you are in Cambridge. Their store is a must visit, you will not be disappointed. INFRA Cambridge Naturals

Our cherry on top.
We love our new location so much.
Everyday we get a little more comfortable in our new space.
We love that you can do your grocery shopping, have a bite to eat and a little a little bonus self care by listening to the water fall.
Our shelves are filling with all the staples you need and our kitchen is creating new dishes to enjoy. Thanks for growing with us..
DIRECTION HELP to Roots….we are at the 5th mass turnpike entrance of the Mill building. Google is often taking everyone to the other side of the building. We are working on the issue .. and our signs are coming early next week. Thanks for finding us we know it’s been a little tricky.

Wow. 7 DAYS JUST FLEW BY!
What an opening week! Thank you to all who found us and came out to our new location. Thank you for being so kind as we put our business back together again.

And now WE’RE REOPENING!

And we are so excited!!

Thank you all for your patience... the moment we have been waiting for is finally here!
And we think you’ll love our new space as much as we do!

This Thursday at 8 AM, Roots Market + Kitchen officially opens the doors to our new home at the Emerson Falls!

After 24 years in Leominster, this move has been a BIG DREAMY undertaking. There have been long days, hard work, a few challenges, lots of boxes a few tractor trailers and so many people who stepped up to help us get here.

We are incredibly thankful to our amazing team, our friends, our business community, other INFRA store owners, our loyal customers, and every single person who helped us move, build, clean, paint, fix, carry, encourage, and believe in us along the way. An incredible team of contractors that build us the most beautiful new market and kitchen. Also a very special thank you the incredibly kind family who owns the building we now call our new home.

We truly couldn’t have done it without you. ❤️

Roots may have a new home and a much better view, but at the heart of it, we are Roots your community market + kitchen .

In between all the moving we had a moment to recharge. Chef Kevin and I spend the morning Rattle Root Farm just absorbing the beauty they have created. We are so thankful for all the love and energy they put into growing our food. Our future lettuce for your salads. Your future root veggies for Thanksgiving sides and a the herbs we season your cafe favorites.. what a treat this morning… feeling extra thankful as we keep swimming toward our new goal.

Today, as we close the doors of Roots Leominster and prepare to begin a new chapter, we want to take a moment to say something that goes far beyond “thank you.”

Roots has never just been a cafe or a store. It has always been a community.

To our customers-thank you for showing up for us. For grabbing your morning coffee, sharing meals with your families, shopping fornew foods, letting us help you on your health journies, bringing your friends, celebrating milestones, and making Roots part of your lives. Every visit, every conversation, every familiar face has meant more than you know.

To our employees past and present-thank you for the countless early mornings, late nights, busy weekends, laughter, hard work, creativity, patience, and dedication. You are the heart of Roots. What you have given this place over the years cannot be measured.

And to the Leominster community-thank you for believing in us for so many years. You watched us grow, change, stumble, learn, celebrate, and keep going. You gave us a place to put down roots for nearly 25 years, and we will carry that history with us to our new location!

Today is not goodbye.

It is a thank you for everything that brought us here and an invitation to come with us into what comes next.

Our roots run deep.

10 Years of Geo at Roots
The roots talent goes deep…

Today, Geo made his last sandwich at Roots Leominster-and it’s hard to put into words what that moment means to us.

Geo has been such an important part of Roots for nearly 10 years. He is kind, hardworking, dependable, and always willing to jump in and do whatever needs to be done. He is truly the behind-the-scenes master of all from off sight catering job to the roots kitchen- rarely seen, but always making sure things get done, problems get solved, and the kitchen keeps moving. And if you know Geo, you know he’s usually doing it all with that sweet smile of his.

He has given so much of his time, energy, and dedication to Roots over the years.

As we close this chapter in Leominster and begin our next adventure, we are feeling incredibly grateful for the people who have helped us get here- and Geo is absolutely one of them. We could not have done it without him.

Geo, we are beyond lucky to have had you as part of our Roots family. Thank you for your loyalty, your hard work, your kindness, and for giving so much of yourself to Roots over the years.

Here’s to 10 years of hard work, laughs, memories, and being part of the Roots family.

3 days till we start dismantling the Roots Leominster kitchen.
A SHORT VERY ABBREVIATED STORY. It’s Feb 8 2015 I had 4 tickets to a farm dinner held by the original creator of local farm dinners Lynn from Lettuce be Local/Maker on Main at Heifer Farm now Lilac Hedge. Kevin, a mutual friend of both of ours (P) and Roots market manager (C) and I all went to a beautiful winter wonderland farm dinner in the middle of Rutland. This was really the one of the first times Kevin and I were introduced and the next 11 years is pretty much our history. For those 11 years we have been partners in business and life. We were both raised by foreign single moms and like kevin I spent my childhood summers in Europe, in my mother’s home country of Holland. As the years went on we found that our paths crossed many times but never connected. As children our moms both went to the same local colleges during the same years…In our early 20s we were at the same VT reggae festivals. In our late twenties as he was hitch hiking to British Columbia I was making my way to Alaska to study Biology. Fast forward to our late 30s as we started to “boomerang” as I call it, coming back to the area to help our moms… we finally meet. I was building a kitchen, honestly having no idea what I was doing…. I met a chef who knew exactly what to do and asked me who’s going to run this… and I said I don’t know… but apparently the universe knew exactly who was going to run it!!! So as we dismantle the kitchen we built together. We are so excited to rebuilt the most beautiful new market + kitchen for our community to enjoy.
