That has especially been true of today- the horror of authoritarian violence is not something I thought we’d ever have to face. But we’re here. So as a mother, I have made a promise to myself and my child not to stay silent.

What’s happening is wrong and has been wrong for quite some time. But now it’s happening to white people in broad daylight.

Are the last of you brainwashed hold outs paying attention now? Real enough for you? It’s not going to stop now unless we all stand up to them.

Today my baby turned 5! And out of all the ways he could’ve spent his birthday, he chose a historical tour of an old local mansion.

He loves learning, antiques and architecture.

It was a slow afternoon for them so we got the whole place and tour guide to ourselves for a while.

He listened attentively and asked questions. Im so amazed by how curious, clever and smart he is.

Things haven’t been easy for us this year, but he continues to be the light of our lives, always uplifting everyone around him with his excitement, friendliness and positivity.

I know now I was meant to meet Tom just so I could bring his beautiful spirit into this world.

Until I realized we were very different people, I thought his dad was the love my life.

Now I know my true soulmate is this brilliant little boy who gives me multiple reasons to smile and laugh every day.

I cant imagine a world without my sweet Harri.

Im so grateful for how motherhood and Harri specifically have changed me for the better. And I know that together we can navigate the good, the bad and everything in between.
