BCBS policy change 📣

⚠️ Practice Alert for Michigan Behavioral Health Providers ⚠️
BCBSM recently announced a policy change that may significantly impact incident-to billing.

Based on information currently available, services provided by limited licensed clinicians (including LLMSWs, LLPCs, and LLMFTs) and students may no longer be eligible for reimbursement through incident-to billing under BCBSM commercial plans.

NASW-Michigan is actively working with coalition partners to seek clarification on implementation and potential impacts on providers, workforce capacity, and client access to care.

We will soon be releasing a survey to gather feedback from affected providers. Your input will be critical in helping us advocate for Michigan's behavioral health workforce.
