MIPA thanks U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith for spending time today with local independent pharmacy owners, pharmacy staff, and other members of the healthcare team at Yazoo Drug Company in Yazoo City.

The visit provided an opportunity for Senator Hyde-Smith to hear directly from those on the front lines about the challenges facing independent pharmacies and the importance of protecting access to pharmacy care in communities across Mississippi.

We appreciate Senator Hyde-Smith taking the time to listen, ask questions, and see firsthand the vital role independent pharmacies play in the lives of their patients and communities they serve.

A special thank you to Donna Mohamed, owner of Yazoo Drug Company, for graciously hosting us and bringing everyone together for this important conversation.

MIPA thanks Congressman Bennie G. Thompson for cosponsoring H.R. 6610, legislation that promotes fair pharmacy reimbursement and helps preserve access to community pharmacy care.

Next week, we’ll host Congressman Thompson along with additional members of Mississippi’s congressional delegation at MIPA pharmacies across the state to see firsthand the vital role independent pharmacies play in their communities.

Independent pharmacies serve communities in every corner of the state and every congressional district. We’re grateful for the bipartisan support building behind H.R. 6610 and welcome continued conversations with all members of Mississippi’s delegation.
