I am excited to share that I’ve registered for a 4-day intensive training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)!

ERP is considered one of the most effective treatments for OCD. It helps people gradually face fears in a structured, supportive way while learning to reduce the compulsions, avoidance, and rituals that continue the anxiety loop. It helps retrain the brain’s response to fear and uncertainty so lasting change can happen.

Excited to continue to expand my skill set!

Some losses don’t fade with time.

You may find yourself replaying moments, feeling waves of emotion that come out of nowhere, or feeling disconnected from both the pain and the good memories. You might wonder why grief still feels so intense, even months or years later.

There’s a reason for this.

Certain losses overwhelm the brain and nervous system, especially when the loss was sudden, traumatic, or deeply meaningful. When that happens, grief can get stuck rather than gradually integrating.

EMDR is a therapy that helps the brain process loss in a different way. Instead of reliving the pain over and over, many people find they can remember their loved one with less overwhelm and more sense of connection.

Research shows that EMDR can reduce intrusive memories, emotional intensity, and the feeling of being frozen in grief. People often report that the memories feel less sharp and that they can access both the sadness and the love without becoming overwhelmed.

EMDR does not take grief away.
It helps grief move.

If you’ve been carrying a loss that still feels heavy or unfinished, EMDR may offer a path forward that feels gentler and more natural than talking alone.

You don’t have to forget to heal.

✨ Happy New Year! ✨

As we step into a new year, we want to express our gratitude to our clients and community. We are looking forward to continuing to provide high quality mental health care and walking alongside our clients on their healing journeys.

This past year brought exciting growth for our practice. We welcomed three new clinicians, bringing our team to six incredible providers, each offering their own unique expertise, perspective, and experience. This growth allows us to better meet the diverse needs of our clients and expand our capacity to serve.

We were also proud to begin offering in person sessions one day per week and to become Medicare providers, allowing us to support an even broader population of individuals seeking care.

We are deeply honored to do this work and to be trusted with such important stories and lives.

✨ 2026 will be the best year yet! ✨

Carrie Graham Counseling is a locally owned group therapy practice dedicated to helping individuals and families feel more grounded, supported, and empowered, especially those impacted by trauma, anxiety, and life transitions.

The practice offers evidence-based, trauma-informed care, with therapists trained in:

• EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): A powerful therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic or distressing experiences so they no longer feel overwhelming in daily life.
• IFS (Internal Family Systems): A compassionate, non-pathologizing approach that helps clients understand and heal different “parts” of themselves.
• CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): A structured approach focused on changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors to improve emotional well-being.
• TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused CBT): An evidence-based model designed to help children, teens, and adults safely process trauma.

The practice is primarily virtual, allowing clients to access high-quality therapy from the comfort of their own homes. Most insurance plans are accepted, including Medicare (excluding Medicaid), helping make care more accessible.
