What are my must haves for a 5 day conference??

Collagen a must have for me protein in my coffee. Especially when you need to be on my a game from first thing in the morning.

Electrolytes absolutely! The last thing I want is to be waking up with leg cramps in the middle of the night because I’m dehydrated.

Protein bars. Who knows when a meal will be served that doesn’t sit well with me and I need to still be able to have something in place of that or a snack.

Teabags. It’s the little creature comforts that can be so nice when you’re traveling away from home.

Supplements. Just a few, but my B vitamins that I take in place of a prenatal and charcoal is a must have for me in case I eat something that bothers me.

What did I miss? What do you always pack when you go away for five days?

When most people think about gut issues, they think about bloating, constipation, or reflux.

But what if your gut is asking for support in ways you wouldn’t immediately connect?

✨ Foods you used to love suddenly don’t agree with you.
✨ Acne, eczema, or mysterious rashes keep showing up.
✨ Nausea or pain between your shoulder blades seems to come out of nowhere.
✨ Blood clots during your period become your normal.
✨ Your hormones feel completely out of balance.

These symptoms may seem unrelated, but our bodies are beautifully interconnected.

The goal isn’t to silence symptoms, it’s to understand what they’re trying to tell us and uncover the root cause.

🎙️ In the latest episode of the Health & Hormones Podcast, I’m unpacking some of the hidden signs that your gut may need support, even if you’re not experiencing obvious digestive distress.

When your favorite foods don’t love you back… 💔

If foods you used to enjoy suddenly leave you feeling bloated, uncomfortable, or exhausted, it’s worth paying attention.

Food sensitivities are often a sign that something deeper is going on. They’re not the root cause, they’re a clue.

Your body is always communicating with you. The question is: are we listening?

✨ If you’ve noticed your food list getting smaller and your symptoms getting bigger, it may be time to dig deeper and uncover the root cause.

Anyone else feeling pulled??

Slow down and be present.
Capture moments with my memory (not my phone)
Listen to the Lord speaking in my heart.
Catch sun rays and enjoy a good book.
Soaking up friends and family.
Listening to my body and what it needs.

What a season it is.

Summer, sun, and beautiful weather.
Pregnant and watching my oldest turning into a young man with more independence.
Camping as a family in a camper for the first time. (See the cereal that is a rare treat to my people.🤣)

In all of it, I give thanks. For the moments to work. The moments of silence. The moments of utter chaos. And everything in between.

Also, happy birthday/Father’s day to my forever date!!

We often think about the physical things we inherited from our mothers, her eyes, her smile, her laugh.

But what about the things beneath the surface?

The way we view our bodies.
How we respond to compliments.
What we believe makes us worthy.
How we handle stress and hard emotions.

Whether we realize it or not, our daughters are learning these lessons from us every day.

Not just from what we tell them, but from what we model.

The way we speak to ourselves today may become the way they speak to themselves tomorrow.

🎙️ In this week’s episode of Mom Sets the Tone, I’m talking about the unique influence we have as mothers and why our example often shapes our daughters more than our advice ever will.

If you’re raising daughters, or hope to leave a legacy of confidence, peace, and self-worth for the young women in your life, I’d love for you to join me for this conversation. Listen through the link in my bio.

💛 What’s one thing your mom modeled that you’re grateful for, or one thing you’re intentionally doing differently with your own daughters?

Our children don’t just hear our words, they feel our presence.

When we’re constantly overwhelmed, snapping in frustration, or carrying stress without processing it, it impacts the atmosphere of our homes. But the opposite is true, too. Peace, patience, and emotional steadiness are contagious.

As mothers, we have the incredible privilege of holding our children’s hearts. That doesn’t mean we’re perfect. It means we’re willing to do the work of caring for our own hearts so we can better care for theirs.

🎙️ In this week’s podcast episode, we’re talking about how moms set the tone in the home and why the way we show up matters more than we realize.

Looking back, there are a few things I wish I had known before my daughter’s first period.

Not because I did everything wrong, but because motherhood often teaches us as we go.

👉🏻I wish I had known that emotional changes can begin before the first cycle ever arrives.
👉🏻I wish I had known how many period product options were available and how different each girl’s needs can be.
👉🏻And I wish I had known that conversations about periods, fertility, and God’s design for our bodies don’t all have to happen at once.

These moments are opportunities, not just to share information, but to help our daughters understand that their changing bodies are good, purposeful, and beautifully designed.

If you’re raising daughters, I hope this encourages you. You don’t need to have every answer. You just need to be willing to start the conversation.

🎧 In this week’s podcast episode, I share these lessons in more depth and offer practical encouragement for navigating this season with confidence and grace.

💛 Save this post for later and share it with a mom who is raising daughters.

One thing I wish I had known before my daughter’s first period?

To make space for the conversation.

Not just about what was happening physically, but about how her changing body is part of God’s beautiful design. That this season isn’t something to fear, hide, or be embarrassed by, it’s something good.

So many women grew up without these conversations, which is why I wanted to share what I’ve learned.

In the full podcast episode, I talk through several things I wish I had known sooner and how we can help our daughters approach this transition with confidence, understanding, and peace.

Painful periods, acne, mood swings, heavy bleeding, and irregular cycles are often treated as problems to silence.

But what if they’re actually signs that your body needs support?

Many hormonal symptoms can be connected to deeper issues like inflammation, blood sugar imbalances, gut dysfunction, nutrient deficiencies, stress, or challenges with estrogen metabolism.

While birth control can be an important tool in some situations, it doesn’t always address the underlying cause of what’s happening.

You deserve to understand your body—not just manage symptoms.

If you’ve been told your symptoms are “normal” but you know something feels off, let’s start asking better questions.

A few life updates from the Johnson’s!

Today is our 20th wedding anniversary!! Hard to believe and yet incredible what we’ve done in that time. Who we are now and who the Lord is forming and shaping us into. It’s not a gift I take lightly 20 years with my best friend and through the good, bad, and down right hard there is no one else I’d rather do life with. I love you, Ben.

Baby #7 is in the oven with a debut scheduled for November!!! Just like baby’s big brothers (how strange that sounds). So a third boy??? Not sure time will tell. For now I’m rejoicing that pregnancy post 40 so far is my EASIEST yet. Praise the Lord!!

Ben is going back to school starting August 1st!! He got accepted into Notre Dame’s executive MBA program. It’s going to be a crazy 22 months but I couldn’t be happier for him pursuing this dream.

And last, but certainly not least, our oldest graduated high school!! What a gift it was to homeschool him all 12 years of school. I’m so thankful for the books and conversations we’ve shared. And so thankful God called me to homeschooling him. Thankful for the young man he has become and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for him next.

I think that about sums up our spring. 🤣🤣🤣
