Nobody is a stage. 🌟
What people living with metastatic breast cancer often tell us: the hardest part isn’t only the treatment — it’s being seen as a stage, a statistic or a cautionary tale instead of a person mid-story. And the family carries it too: the partner who learns the drug names, the kids who learn the scan schedule.
Support that helps asks “how are you, today?” and means it.
Comment if you relate — and tag the person who’s been your family through it. 💙

Men don’t have breast tissue — except they do. 🎀

A small amount sits behind the ni**le — where breast cancer in men usually begins. Rare (fewer than 1 in 100 breast cancers), most common over 60, more likely with a BRCA2 gene change, raised oestrogen (obesity, liver cirrhosis, Klinefelter syndrome) or past chest radiotherapy.

The problem isn’t rarity; it’s delay — men are more often diagnosed after it has spread, because “men don’t get this” buys the cancer time. Same treatment as women; works best early.

đź’— Hope, packed one bag at a time.

At inSPire2026, the specialty pharmacy community came together for the Tina’s Warriors Hope Event for Cancer, filling care packages with comfort items and handwritten messages for people facing cancer.

A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, our volunteers, and everyone who stopped to pack a bag, write a note, or lend a hand. You brought the Tina’s Warriors mission to life, and every package carries a reminder to patients that they are never alone.

When a community comes together with purpose, bridges get built and connections last. 🌉

Building Bridges, Changing Lives.

Six kinds of treatment. Nobody gets all six. 🎀
What people often tell us after diagnosis: they assumed everyone gets chemotherapy, that surgery always means mastectomy, and that “targeted” and “immunotherapy” were the same thing. None of that holds. Your plan is built from your cancer’s subtype and stage — hormone receptors, HER2, inherited gene changes — and from you.
Eight slides, six tools, one principle: ask what each one is for.
Comment if you relate — which part of treatment surprised you? 💙

Metastatic breast cancer is treatable, although it is generally not considered curable. Treatment focuses on controlling the disease, managing symptoms and maintaining quality of life.

Four places. One name. 🔬

Breast cancer most often spreads to bone, liver, lung or brain, and the symptoms depend on where: bone pain, breathlessness, belly swelling or jaundice, headaches. Many cause no symptoms and show up on scans first.

Whatever the organ, it’s still breast cancer — same cells, same name, treated as breast cancer. After a breast cancer diagnosis, a new symptom that persists is a call to your team, not a wait-and-see.

Save this, and share it with a parent. đź’™

One day of pink October belongs to the people still in treatment. 🎀

Metastatic breast cancer doesn’t come with a finish line: treatment continues for life. It’s treatable — some people live for years with it well controlled — and it isn’t curable yet. That gap is why today exists: for research, for support, and for being heard.

If you’re living with it, or loving someone who is: we’re listening.

What do you wish people understood about metastatic breast cancer? Comment below — I’ll read every one. 💙

Stage IV doesn’t mean someone missed something. 🎀

Stage IV means breast cancer has reached somewhere distant — bone, liver, lung, brain. That’s the whole definition.

Around 6 in 100 women are stage IV at their very first diagnosis (US data). Most were treated for early-stage disease and it returned, sometimes years later, with everyone having done everything right.

Blame has no place in this diagnosis.

Breast cancer in the bones isn’t bone cancer. 🎀

When breast cancer spreads to a distant part of the body — most often bone, liver, lung or brain — the cells there are still breast cancer cells. They look like the original under a microscope, and they’re treated with breast cancer treatments, not bone or lung ones.

You’ll hear it called metastatic, stage IV or secondary breast cancer. Same thing. This week is about what it means — and what can still be done.

The diagnosis lands in your body. It lives in your head, too. đź’š

Fear, low mood, anxiety, numbness — common after a diagnosis, and treatable. Counselling, support groups, medication where it helps: none of it is weakness, all of it is care. Tell your care team how you're coping — it's part of their job.

And if it ever feels like more than you can carry, say so today — to your team, or to someone you trust.

What helped your mind during treatment — and what didn't? Comment below — I'll read every one. 💙
