There is so much more to prenatal care than simply “getting a massage.”

As both a Birth Doula and Prenatal Massage Therapist, I get to support women through one of the biggest physical transitions their bodies will ever experience.

By the third trimester, that beautiful belly can feel heavy. As baby grows, the added weight and changes in posture can contribute to pressure through the pelvis, hips, low back and legs.

One of the tools I use is kinesiology taping of the belly. When appropriately applied, the tape can provide gentle external support to the abdomen and may help take some of that feeling of heaviness and strain off the body—especially when combined with prenatal massage and intentional bodywork.

Sometimes a little extra support can make a very pregnant body feel a whole lot more comfortable.
