Meet Andrew Vollmar — Senior Animator & Designer, Marketing

With 16 years of tenure, Andrew has left his mark on work you’ve almost certainly seen: surgical technique guides, product brochures, training animations, and much of our digital presence. He began his career at Zavation on the original Tiger® Pedicle Screw System technique guide and has since created renderings and animations for over 50 product lines, transforming complex engineering designs into engaging content that showcases how our instruments and implants work.

As Zavation has navigated two business acquisitions, growing our portfolio and bringing more literature development in-house, Andrew has steadily taken on more responsibility as our sole Senior Animator and Designer. As part of the Marketing team, he works closely with Product Management to bring our products and technologies to life.

“I’ve seen the company evolve and grow, and I’m always curious to see what we’ll be doing next. Oh, and on Wednesdays, we wear pink.”

We recently welcomed Dr. Knetsche and his distributor, Shannon, to our St. Louis facility for a day of education, collaboration, and partnership.

During his visit, Dr. Knetsche toured our facility and led a VEO® Lateral Access System training session for our distributor partners. His clinical experience and knowledge of lateral access brought valuable perspective to the training and provided an opportunity for our team and distributors to learn directly from his experience in the OR.

We’re grateful to Dr. Knetsche and Shannon for taking the time to visit us and share their expertise, and to our distributor partners for their continued commitment to education and advancing spine care.

Great partnerships create meaningful opportunities for learning and innovation.

Recently, we had the privilege of hosting an international surgeon lab at our St. Louis facility in partnership with our valued distributor, Globaltec from Mexico.

Nine surgeons joined us for an immersive, hands-on training experience led by Dr. Ben Weisenthal, who proctored the lab featuring the VEO® Lateral Access System and Harrier SA® Interbody System.

A sacroiliac joint fusion procedure performed using the Zavation SInapse® SI Fusion System with a posterior oblique approach. The system’s self-tapping, self-drilling screw design and purpose-built instrumentation supported the surgeon’s intended screw placement. In this procedure, the surgeon reported improvement in the patient’s SI joint–related pain.
