As an IBCLC I can provide high quality holistic lactation and infant feeding care, and support parents in their journey. Services are often covered by insurance and all billing is taken care of by New River Lactation. Out of pocket o

Consultations can help you meet your breastfeeding goals, overcome difficulties, ensure adequate intake at breast, provide support when interventions are needed and supply and breastfeeding wish to be preserved, and can help a lactating parent make a smoother transition back to work.

Remembering the incredible TLN conference last year, all the IBCLC's I met, and how inspired I felt. With the ACA in question, I hope that whatever path we have moving forward, it includes amazing support for parents wishing to breastfeed and care for their babies. And honestly, whatever their feeding choices, parents deserve maternity/paternity leave, access to resources and better follow up in the postpartum. IBCLC's try to fill those gaps: we screen for PMADS, connect babies with medical care when needed, connect parents with support groups, etc, in addition to lactation and when desired bottle feeding support! It's my dream that the US can lead the world with coherent, humane infant-child-parent and birth policies. Long term goals! Meanwhile I will keep doing my part one family at a time. Grateful of the IBCLC tribe!

If Breastfeeding Babies Made Candy Hearts...

They’d say things like:

💖 "Latch Love"
🥰 "More B**b Pls"
🌙 "Midnight Snack"
💞 "Mama = Home"
✨ "Best. Milk. Ever."
😍 "Snuggles First"

Because nothing says love like warm cuddles, milky smiles, and the sweetest bond! 💕✨

What would your baby’s candy heart say? Drop it in the comments! ⬇️

So true

So true

✨ “We would all love the instant and magical, but there is no switch to flip that brings this experience on, and it does not always happen instantly. It can take some time for a mother and her baby to emotionally cozy up with each other.” — Ayo Ayeni – Founder, Haven Advocacy. ✨

“Sometimes it’s love at first sight; other times, it’s a process or transition into something amazing, and we need a minute.”

Tips that may help you bond with your baby ⤵️⤵️
💙 Be patient with yourself and your baby
💙 Focus on the positive interactions with your baby
💙 Talk to your baby or read to them. Even though they can’t understand you yet, talking to them can help them feel connected to you
💙 Recall how much you love your baby and all you’re doing for the baby’s well-being
💙 Skin-to-skin contact, as it helps regulate the baby’s heart rate and breathing and releases oxytocin in the mother’s brain

Got Doula?

You don’t have to do this alone. As your doula I offer affordable, tailored care, advocacy and support, so you can stay focused on birthing.

Birth is beautiful. And rocky and hard. And exhilarating. Sometimes slow, sometimes fast and sometimes even or****ic. It can take many paths and no two journeys will look or feel quite the same. Having trained and served as a midwife and now doula, my heart has lead me to look beyond the ‘appearance’ of birth, to the deeper currents. I recognize that more important than having a home vs. hospital birth, a birth with epidural or without, a vaginal birth or cesarean birth, is the reality of how a mother felt cared for during her birthing experience.

Leaving the medical care of midwifery behind me, as a doula I am able to deeply focus on the forming family, the new mother and father and child-to-be.

This is why I am a doula.
