💞🐎🙏🏻The powerful journey of our Therapy Horse, CHANEL, will touch your heart deeply.

🐎At 4 years old, this Thoroughbred race horse, raced in her first and last race. She was so badly injured during this one and only race that euthanasia was almost inevitable.

She was offered to me before drastic measures were taken and, at first, I actually said I would have to think about it. She was wild and in pain and very dangerous in the damaged state she was in. I simply could not be certain she would ever SAFELY fit into our program.

🙏🏻Seeing something special in this darling, I hesitantly agreed to give her a chance. I began working to simply enter her stall without literally, being trampled.
Then, every day I would do a little more to earn her trust. She would explode and panic, causing much fear and continued damaging every part of her attempted recovery. 2 steps forward, 3 steps backward.

💞One entire month went by and I was finally ready to let her out of her stall, only to go just a few feet. Day after day, we would walk a little further.
Eventually, we made it simply out of the barn! That was a WIN! (video!)

I continued the process of rehabilitation with this horse for almost 2 YEARS!
Patience, patience, patience!
Long story short, she made a full recovery, but little did I know of the impact she would have on the world…particularly a certain part of the world!

⭐️Here’s the wow!
You see, Chanel isn’t just a therapy horse for everyone… She is a therapy horse specifically for those beautiful souls with Autism Spectrum Disorder, who live in a world different from ours, but one that Chanel connects with beyond understanding.

It is truly hard to describe how she immediately connects with our Autistic clients. I have seen it personally, over and over again and can tell you that it is truly a Godgiven ability for this horse to read and specifically understand those with Autism. She meets them exactly where they are on their terms, not ours. 

💥🐎She is an extraordinary, Certified Therapy Horse in our Alternative Equine Assisted Healing Program, Healing with Horses Louisiana!

Because of a scholarship from Grant's Gift Foundation, Jack Dahl has found a place where he can thrive.

Through the Alternative Equine Therapy Program at Healing with Horses Louisiana, Jack has formed a special bond with Chanel, a therapy horse who brings him joy and a peaceful setting making it a perfect fit!

As his mother shares, "His smile shows how much this program has enriched his life."
