I quit sugar for 3 months — here’s what I noticed.
The first month was HARD. I didn’t feel good at all. I dealt with bloating, headaches, body aches, breakouts that I’m still working through, and overall just felt off. And honestly, it made me question: if I’m cutting out something that’s “bad” for me… why do I feel worse before I feel better?
What I realized was that my body was going through a huge adjustment. My inflammation levels were shifting, my gut health was changing, and my body needed support while adapting. That’s when I started focusing more intentionally on supporting my lymphatic system, hydration, movement, dry brushing, and overall recovery. I went to see for lymphatic vibration therapy, and I noticed an immediate difference in how I felt afterward.
By month 3, I decided to reintroduce sugar. What surprised me most was that it didn’t even taste the same anymore. Everything felt overly sweet, I noticed more brain fog, fatigue, inflammation, mood swings, and low energy almost immediately.
This post isn’t about telling you to completely cut out sugar forever. I still enjoy foods with sugar, and I believe food is also meant to be enjoyed. But this experience made me so much more aware of how the things we eat can impact not just our physical health, but our mental and emotional health too.
A lot of people normalize feeling tired, inflamed, bloated, anxious, or foggy every day without realizing their lifestyle habits may be playing a role. Sometimes small intentional changes can make a huge difference.
That’s a big part of what I help my coaching clients with — learning how to better understand their bodies, create sustainable habits, and find balance in a way that actually feels realistic and enjoyable long term 🤍 🧁
