"CPT" is an outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy practice. Suzanne and Stephen Atcavage, both physical therapists, opened their first office at the Forest City location in 1997. Since 1997, the practice has expanded to five locations - Forest City, Hawley, Carbondale, Dunmore, and Honesdale. The practice is inspired by the goal to provide patient-focused care and the use of evidence-based medicine to ensure the provision of effective, customized care, specific to each client's need. At CPT, the patient is NOT a number. Lymphedema care, sports medicine, Board Certified Hand Therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, concussion management, Parkinson's Disease programs and pelvic floor rehabilitation are among the specialty care services offered. We love tendon glide exercises! 👋💙

These exercises detail the various ways our hand makes fists! 👊 If our hand isn't stiff, we can go through these exercises quickly as a warm-up; if stiffness or pain is present, then these exercises may need a little more time & effort to complete!

After completing nine murals in downtown Forest City this year, Valley In Motion is presenting a MURAL TOUR in Forest City on Friday, October 30th at 5pm, in conjunction with Halloween on Main Street!

The tour will begin at the Trail Town Mural located at 503 Main Street in Forest City, with pizza provided by Mike's Pizza.

The event is open to the public; anyone wanting to learn more about the Forest City Murals is invited to attend.

Here is Giselle's left elbow. 💪Giselle is 3 weeks post op from submuscular ulnar nerve transposition surgery.

👉Giselle has a long-standing history of issues with ulnar neuropathy. Ulnar neuropathy includes symptoms such as numbness and tingling in the ring and pinky fingers, and when severe, muscle atrophy to the muscles of the hand. This is Giselle's 3rd surgery to correct this issue! 💠This submuscular ulnar nerve transposition surgery included moving the nerve beneath a muscle for protection, along with flexor-pronator lengthening, removal of part of the triceps, and removal of a neuroma to the medial antebrachial cutaneous nerve.

🌟Giselle has achieved significant improvements in active range of motion in her elbow at this time and is not cleared to start strengthening until another 3 weeks out!

First of all, I was so very pleased with the wonderful therapy I received at "CPT". 👍

The OT I received for my shoulder repair has helped me so much, right from the first day to the day of my discharge. I cannot tell you how happy I am to be doing the things I could not do for a long time now. I highly recommend "CPT" for everyone who wants to get back to what they used to do and get stronger in the process.

👾👋Meet Miss Pac-Man! 🟡

Grip strength and fine motor dexterity!

In this activity, our patient is squeezing a tennis ball to encourage a stronger grasp, then using her fingers to pick up coins, just like Pac-Man gobbling up those dots! 🟡😆

This fun, functional activity challenges hand strength, coordination, and dexterity while keeping therapy engaging.

Keep chomping, Miss Pac-Man! 💪👾

🔍Does this ring finger look like one of yours? 👉This is a trigger finger!

It's very common & occurs due to overuse causing inflammation of the flexor tendon & pulley system.👋 It could affect any of our fingers, including the thumb!

🌟We recommend splinting & tendon glide exercises to improve the health of the tendon when treating this condition!
