Interoception is the perception of the state of our body, specifically our internal organs. Interoception has been correlated with the ability to make accurate decisions. When you become aware that your stomach feels tight or your heart is racing, that is interoception. When we are in the habit of checking in with our body’s sensations regularly, we get better at distinguishing when we are triggered into fight, flight or fawn responses. When we are familiar with being connected with our sensations we are better able to distinguish real threat or triggers based a past trauma and fear leading us to make better decisions, and take actions to sooth ourselves.
Interoception practice:
Take a moment to notice what you are feeling in your body. What temperature do you feel? How does your belly feel? Your chest? Can you tune into your heartbeat? How do your hands feel? What is feeling good? What is feeling neutral or uncomfortable? Do you see colors?
Stay curios, there is no right or wrong way to feel your body.
Try this practice often to connect to your inner world and see what shifts for you. .

Your 4th chakra is Anahata — the heart center, resting in the middle of all the chakras. In Sanskrit, Anahata means “unstruck” or “unhurt.”

The heart is deeply resilient. No matter what we move through collectively or individually, there is a part of us that remains untouched — steady, whole, and unstruck.

In Sanskrit, words are considered carriers of vibration and energy. Speaking or silently repeating a word can invite the essence of its meaning into the body.

A beautiful way to connect to the heart is to softly gaze at the Anahata yantra — the geometric symbol associated with the heart chakra — while gently whispering or silently repeating the word Anahata for a few minutes.

Notice what shifts within you.

For me, this practice brings a sense of peace, calm, and trust that everything will be okay. 🙏

Greeting the morning sun. One of my favorite morning ritual.

Your nervous system is listening the moment you wake up.

Before the emails, the noise, the to-do list… there’s a window. A chance to set the tone—not just for your day, but for how your body feels in your day.

Morning rituals aren’t about perfection or productivity. They’re about regulation.

Even a few intentional minutes can:
• signal safety to your nervous system
• lower baseline stress levels
• improve focus and emotional resilience
• support better energy (without relying on cortisol spikes)
• create a sense of control and groundedness

This can look like:
– slow, conscious breathing
– gentle movement or stretching
– stepping outside for natural light
– self-massage or body awareness
– a quiet cup of coffee without scrolling

Small, consistent cues of safety teach your body that it doesn’t have to start the day in survival mode.

You don’t need a long routine. You need a reliable one.

What’s one thing you can offer your nervous system tomorrow morning? 🌿

Imagine a mind free of every care or worry- a mind filled with peace, and love for every being. A mind that can reach out to the very ends of space, and know every existing thing in the universe. A mind that looks into all these things, and sees their true nature✨🙏

Move, Breath, Roll A 3 part self massage and movement series to help you feel better in your body.

Hello friends and Clients,

I am excited to be leading this three part Series at Upstairs yoga.

This class series is designed to help you feel more at ease in your body through a thoughtful combination of self massage using Tune Up Fitness® therapy balls and Yoga Tune® up movement. Each class focuses on a specific area of the body, using self-massage, mindful movement and breath to release tension, improve mobility, and build body awareness.

This series is suitable for all levels and especially supportive for anyone experiencing tension from stress, repetitive movement, or long hours sitting. Basically anyone with a body!

A sweet surprise visitor arrived at my doorstep needing help. I quickly reached out to , a true Forest Grove community hero. They jumped into action, and little lady was at the vet in no time. Please think about donating to this fantastic rescue!

Take a moment to sit quietly and repeat the following to yourself:

May I be kind to myself.
May I forgive my own humanity.
May I hold the suffering of others with grace.
May compassion guide my actions.

Take a few moments to journal:

Where in your life could you meet yourself with more compassion?

Who in your life is hard to offer compassion to? Can you soften—even just a little?

Remember: Compassion isn’t a performance. It’s a presence. And we practice not because it’s easy, but because it’s needed. .
