Cook County Department of Public Health CCDPH is the state-certified public health agency for most of suburban Cook County Comments on this page must align with the following rules.

Public health is the science of protecting and improving the health of people and their communities by promoting healthy lifestyles, researching disease and detecting, preventing and responding to infectious diseases. Violations will be hidden or removed. Repeat offenders will be blocked:

th respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness and courtesy are required. Swearing will be not be tolerated and those comments will immediately be deleted.

2. No Hate Speech or Bullying--bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated. This is an agency of public health, political comments belong elsewhere.

3. No Promotions or Spam--self-promotion, corporate promotion, spam and irrelevant links aren't allowed.

4. Respect Everyone's Privacy

5. If you repeatedly post comments that are or show negative/political/contempt and you have a minimal profile on Facebook, we will assume you are a troll and you will be blocked from this page.

A Tornado Watch is in effect for Cook County until 9 p.m., and a Flood Watch is in effect until 11 p.m. today.

Keep an eye on local weather reports and be prepared to take action if conditions worsen. You can sign up for emergency notifications by texting "AlertCook" to 888-777.

If flooding occurs, move to higher ground. Never walk or drive through floodwater.

If a tornado warning is issued, seek shelter immediately in a basement, storm shelter, or interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
