✨ A promise, assumption, or decision made in an emotional moment can become an agreement we continue carrying.
✨ We can create bindings with ourselves.
“I have to be strong.” “I won’t need anyone.” “I’ll never let that happen again.”
✨An agreement may have once protected you.
What helped you survive or feel safe at one point in your life may become limiting later.
✨ Love can create bindings too.
Promises made from love, loyalty, devotion, or responsibility can continue binding us long after circumstances change.
✨ You don’t have to remember making an agreement.
Sometimes we recognize an old agreement by the patterns it continues to create in our lives.
✨ Our participation can keep a binding alive.
Beliefs, choices, obligations, and repeated behaviors can reinforce agreements we no longer consciously choose.
✨ An agreement can outlive a relationship.
Someone may be gone from our life, yet we can still organize our choices around an agreement we made with them.
✨ Changing your behavior doesn’t always release the agreement.
We can stop honoring an old promise while still carrying the guilt, fear, loyalty, or responsibility attached to it.
✨ Not every binding should simply be broken.
Understanding why an agreement was made, what purpose it served, and what it is connected to can be an important part of releasing or renegotiating it.

In case you’re wondering what Compassionate Depossession/Spirit Release work can look like… 😂 (Thanks to whoever made this comedy skit, I needed a good laugh).
In all seriousness though, Compassionate Spirit Release doesn't have to be dramatic or intense. Often it’s a conversation, a little curiosity, and meeting what’s there with something other than fear or anger. ❤

Where the hearth lives now...

Hearth of the Heart has been changing from the inside. When Hearth of the Heart first came into being, I imagined and co-created the spirit of the hearth as a kind of placeholder and container, a gathering space in person or online where people could come to warm themselves, be seen, heard, learn, and grow. It served as a home for the work for a time, and it asked for a great deal of presence, devotion, and attention to keep the hearth fires burning.

Over time, something shifted. My helping spirits (Grandfather Fire & Death especially) encouraged me to flow with this shift. That said, as any fire tender knows, your heart becomes intimately connected to the fires that you tend, so the idea of closing the hearth was something that took me a while to come around to. Day by day, class by class, client by client, it became clearer... Rather than tending my practice primarily as a held place for people to gather, I found myself being called internally and externally toward the fire that already exists within each person and toward naming what is truly at the heart of my work. And then the understanding landed! The listening, the healing, the remembering, and the relationship with spirit and the unseen world were never meant to live only in the hearth. They live within us. 🔥

Spirit Wisdom is the name that now holds my practice. It speaks to the wisdom that lives within you, the trusted spirits who guide my work, and to the wealth of guidance available through relationship with the spirit world and the natural world. It invites you to remember your true nature, to engage with healing and challenges as opportunities for growth and transformation, and the honors the spirit that exists within all of life. My new domain myspiritwisdom.com reflects this intention. It points not outward, but back toward what is already ours.

Hearth of the Heart connected me with many wonderful clients who came seeking healing support during times of transition, confusion, or loss. Over time, those relationships naturally deepened. Alongside healing work, there emerged a desire to strengthen intuition, reconnect with spiritual gifts, and learn how to listen for and trust one’s own inner guidance. Supporting that remembering has become an increasingly important part of my work, and this is where some of the focus is now shifting.

My classes, circles, and mentorship have always been about supporting clients and students in learning how to listen to your own soul, how to be in relationship with your helping spirits and the living world, and how to trust your intuitive gifts and knowing. Healing here is not about fixing or saving anyone, but about restoring relationship within yourself, and with the wider field of life you belong to.

The offerings themselves are not changing in essence. I will continue to offer one-on-one sessions, readings, classes, circles, and mentorship rooted in animistic and shamanic ways of working. What is changing is the clarity of focus. You can now find my practice at www.myspiritwisdom.com, and I can be reached at [email protected]. Please add this email to your contacts to ensure you receive upcoming announcements if you are on the email list.

The contact phone number will remain the same, the Hearth of the Heart website will redirect to the new site and the old email will forward to the new email for another year or so, to ensure there is time for a gentle transition. I will, however, be using the [email protected] email address for communication moving forward.

Ok dear ones! I'm so excited for what is to come! Thank you for your trust, for your presence here, and for the ways you continue to listen and remember. I’m grateful to remain in relationship as this next chapter unfolds.

With warmth & love,
Heather & Spirit Team

Adding the word shamanic to a practice or modality does not make it truly shamanic. Shamanism is an ancient tradition from Siberia and although Shamanism is commonly considered to be the ancestor of all spiritual traditions and religions, today many folks use the word shamanic to describe healing methods and modalities that incorporate altered states of consciousness. However, this is not an entirely accurate association. If we use the word Shamanism or shamanic we must acknowledge that Shamanism is related to core indigenous principals that are centered in relationship and a way of living and being in the world that honors the sacred purpose of all life forms and beings seen and unseen. A true shamanic or animistic (animated) practice involves living your life in a ceremonious context and communicating with the land, ancestors, nature beings, and the spirit within all of creation to ensure harmonious partnerships and the health and well being of all involved. Furthermore outside of shamanism every human on the planet has intuitive and psychic abilities, Creator gave us these abilities to help us survive and thrive in an ever changing world. In modern times these abilities simply need to be developed and honed and the self healing work done to move out of the place of self-doubt and into a place of true power and authenticity.
