the medium of herbal and plant medicine and provide the tools for students to reclaim their health on all levels of body/mind/spirit. After three years of deep study & practice, our clinical herbalism students are ready to begin working with clients in a guided teaching environment under the mentorship of their teacher, Laura Cascardi.

Their extensive training is rooted in chemistry, anatomy & physiology, pathology, and human & plant energetics, allowing them to approach each individual through a truly holistic lens.

Each private consultation lasts approximately 45 minutes and explores the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit. Sessions are offered on a donation basis, with all contributions supporting Equinox’s educational programs and helping sustain a community-centered model of herbal education.

Consultations are available on a first come, first serve basis from 12–7pm. By participating, you’ll receive personalized herbal guidance including lifestyle, nutrition, and energetics, as well as herbal protocol. Simultaneously, you’ll be helping our students gain the invaluable hands-on clinical experience that shapes the next iteration of community herbalists.

Bring the little ones, too! We’ll also be hosting two children’s teatime classes that day, making it the perfect opportunity to receive a consultation while your kiddos enjoy their own herbal experience. Visit our page for more details on those offerings.

We hope you’ll join us for this special opportunity to receive high quality herbal support while supporting the future of herbal medicine in our community!

Did you know Equinox is now on Substack? ✨🌱

We’re using Substack as a place to share about upcoming events, apothecary updates, long-term programs, seasonal offerings, and all sorts of other Equinox happenings.

As more and more people are stepping away from social media and looking for more intentional ways to connect, we wanted to create another way to stay connected with our community without relying solely on the social media feed.

Think of it as our newsletter, if you will. A slower paced location for longer-form writing, deeper dives, and more detailed updates. We’re so happy to have a place for us to share what’s happening at Equinox directly with our community. A place to gather, share, and stay in touch, beyond the scroll.

We’d love to have you join us there. Subscribe through the link in our bio, and come say hello! 🏵️

Join herbalist and director of Equinox Center of Herbal Studies, Laura Cascardi, for a full day of mountain foraging, plant connection, and hands-on medicine making. We will begin the day by practicing ethical wildcrafting in the mountains, then gather in circle to create your own herbal medicine to take home.

This gathering in particular will be centered around grounding into the fall season. As the plants begin sending energy into their roots, so do we. Together we will learn how & what to harvest in the fall, as well as how to make medicine that will support our grounding & nourishment in the winter season to come.

This retreat is an invitation to deepen your relationship with the herbs by learning how to listen, harvest with respect, and honor the plants within their living ecosystems. Through plant journeys, songs, and shared hands-on practice, we will explore the foundations of basic medicine making in a way that is rooted, joyful, and accessible. This is a very special immersive & ceremonial event!

All supplies will be provided, along with a delicious and healthy gluten-free, vegan, sugar-free lunch, with meat available on the side.

This experience is valued at $300. In keeping with our commitment to accessibility and equity within the herbal community, we are offering it at a sliding scale of $100–$300.

This all-day adventure will take place approximately one hour from Fort Collins; directions will be shared closer to the event date. Class will be held on Saturday, September 26th, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Transportation will not be provided, but we are happy to help connect participants who would like to carpool or who do not have access to their own vehicle. Reserve your space under the events tab on our website or simply follow the link in our bio!

Join us for a one-of-a-kind Mountain Medicine experience!

Together, we’ll step into the world of herbalism through hands-on exploration, plant identification, ethical and respectful harvesting, wildcrafting, medicine making, song, community, and the art of connecting more deeply with the plants around us.

This retreat is an immersive, hands-on journey into the rich herbal traditions of our local mountain flora. We’ll explore not only how to recognize and work with plants, but also how to cultivate a deeper sense of relationship, reciprocity, and connection with the natural world.

We are so incredibly excited to open this special experience to the public and share the beauty and wisdom of our mountain plant communities with you.

We’ll dive into:
🌱 Growing cooling and moistening herbs in small spaces
💧 The medicine of water and ways to cool our inner fire
🦋Loosening stuck energy through the act of cultivating plants
🌀 Embodying the flexible, fluid, swimming beings within us

Expect to journal, draw, get your hands dirty, and connect with the living medicine of plants. Every participant will have the opportunity to create and take home their own portable, patio-friendly garden, planted for late-summer blooms and beyond. 🌱🩵
