A conversation with my husband recently stopped me in my tracks…
As we talked about welcoming baby 4, he shared that one reason he likes to control as much as possible around birth is because he’s still carrying trauma from our previous deliveries.
Honestly, my heart broke.
For years, I hadn’t fully realized the weight he had carried—the fear, responsibility, and helplessness of watching someone you love go through something hard and not being able to take it away.
It changed how I see fatherhood.
Dads may not experience pregnancy and postpartum physically, but they live every moment of it with us. They worry, advocate, lose sleep, and quietly carry so much behind the scenes.
In a culture where so much gets shared online, some of the most meaningful parts of fatherhood happen quietly and without recognition.
So here’s to the dads who show up in the middle of the night, support us through the hard moments, and love their families with their whole hearts.
Share with a dad who deserves a little extra appreciation today. ❤️
