"But, My Back Feels Fine"
As many as 60% of neuropathy cases have some sort of lumbar involvement. It is either primary or a complicating factor in neuropathy symptoms. The nerves in your feet and ankles come directly from your low back and tailbone. Structural issues can come in a variety of presentations, with or without pain.
It can be from a previous low back or tailbone injury, surgery, misalignment, or inflamed nerve roots due to the structural dysfunction in cases like spinal stenosis, impingement or herniation. Maybe the neuropathy started after a low back surgery or a hip surgery. We’ve even seen cases after knee surgery.
If you are one of the 60% who have a structural component to your numbness, tingling, burning, or pain, this must be addressed to achieve optimal results.
