Summer is here, and I’m basically turning into a full‑time sun and water creature again. Give me the ocean, a pool, a lake day, the Poudre River, or Horsetooth Reservoir — anything that lets my nervous system exhale.

Sunshine and water just does something to me. They reset me. They remind me to slow down and bask in their beauty. They bring me back to myself.

But as much as I love summer, the lack of routine can throw everything off. Everyone in the family suddenly has different ideas, different needs, different moods. It’s beautiful… and also a lot.

Case in point: our recent San Diego trip. We went with zero plans (rare for us) and expected to spend all day every day on the beach. Instead, we got absolutely roasted by the sun on day one — like, glowing‑red Coloradoans who clearly forgot how sunscreen works. That led to some tense moments, some pivoting, and eventually… a giant beach umbrella that saved the trip.

Even with the chaos, the ocean worked its magic. We all needed that reset after a stressful couple of months. Being near water reminded me that everything — stress, schedules, sunburns — is temporary. And that balance isn’t something you “find” once. It’s something you keep returning to, like the waves crashing to the shore and then returning to the sea, just to do it all over again … and again.

I’m so excited to open up private 45‑minute sound bath sessions — a deeply restorative experience designed to calm your nervous system, soften your energy, and bring you back into harmony.

Your session begins with 5–10 minutes of Reiki‑infused ceremonial drumming, grounding your body and clearing your field. From there, you’ll be guided into a half hour of crystal singing bowls, each tone chosen to support energetic alignment, emotional release, and deep inner stillness. We seal your session with delicate, high‑vibration elemental Koshi chimes.

When I first started Akamai Healing, all I wanted was to learn and grow in my offerings, and I leaned on other women in the healing space for inspiration and guidance. One of my goals was (and still is!) to lead a women’s retreat, so I reached out to a woman I admired and ended up assisting her on one of her retreats.

But as my own offerings began to grow, the energy shifted. What had initially looked like community turned into a one-sided competition, and I felt myself shrinking in spaces that were supposed to be supportive.

What I came to understand is that sometimes, in healing spaces, we bump into old patterns — our own or someone else’s. Sometimes people feel protective of what they’ve built because there may be an underlying belief that there isn’t enough to go around. Sometimes boundaries get tangled with fear. Sometimes community spaces don’t unfold the way we hoped they would.

And that simply means we’re human.

The experience taught me something important about the energy I want to bring into my own work. It showed me how deeply I believe in abundance, collaboration, and the magic that happens when women genuinely support one another.

After that chapter, I made a vow to myself that I would never make another woman feel small, unwelcome, or unsupported in her own becoming. I would never treat another woman’s gifts as a threat. I would never withhold encouragement out of fear. And I would never shrink someone else’s shine to protect my own.

Instead, I would choose connection over competition. Every time. In every room. In every season of my business.

I’m still floating after yesterday’s Sacred Stillness Mother’s Day event with at . What an incredible group of twelve souls who showed up with open hearts and unfiltered truth. Their willingness to be vulnerable, and to speak honestly about motherhood in all its forms, moved me deeply.

There were tears. There was laughter. There was silence that felt like medicine.

After moving through some restorative yoga postures with gentle compression, I was able to offer a 45-minute sound bath with Reiki drumming and my crystal singing bowls. I felt the magic of everyone softening with that nurturing energy humming through the room.

It is one of the greatest honors of my life to hold space like this. I truly believe it’s my calling to create places where people can feel seen, supported, and safe to simply BE.

Last night, I had the immense privilege of holding my first long-form soundbath .foco. I was also able to lead the group in an opening pranayama (breathwork) practice. I am slowly learning and incorporating more sound into my offerings and, up until this point, have very little formal training. I know I have a long way to go to be the sound practitioner I want to be, but I am immensely grateful for this opportunity to get to bring the power of vibration and frequency so many kind people.

My next sound bath with .foco is July 1, and I am taking multiple sound and instrument trainings between now and then, so it’s only going to get better!

Let this be inspiration for any of you who are wanting to dive into something new, but scared to be a beginner again…💗

I am beyond thrilled to finally roll out something I’ve been working on for quite some time and something that is a true passion of mine — an employee wellness program!

Before founding Akamai Healing, I spent 20 years in the corporate world in high-responsibility, high-pressure roles. I know firsthand how demanding workloads, constant deadlines, and the pressure to perform can leave employees feeling exhausted, overextended, and disconnected from their own well-being.

Stepping deeper into the world of sound healing has been calling to me for a long time, and I’m finally answering that call in a bigger way. I’m grateful for the chance to support the facilitator (Ashley Wood of .your.vibe.wellness) and participate as a student in the Crystal Singing Bowl Level One Certification.

I’m excited to enter this space to learn, grow, and refine my practice with guidance from someone who truly embodies this work. And I’m ready to expand my skills, deepen my understanding, and show up more fully for the communities I serve.
