Yoga Nidra, often called yogic sleep, is a guided relaxation practice done lying in stillness that leads the body into deep rest while the mind remains gently aware. Rooted in ancient ta***ic traditions and systematized in the 1960s by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, its purpose is complete relaxation rather than concentration or effort. Research suggests Yoga Nidra supports stress reduction, emotional balance, and positive physiological changes, making it accessible and beneficial for practitioners of all levels.
