Why do so many people report similar experiences when listening to singing bowls?

Based on sound meditation studies, participant surveys, and clinical observations, three experiences seem to appear most often:

Vivid visual imagery

Many people report seeing colors, geometric patterns, flashes of light, or vivid scenes of nature behind closed eyes. Some describe floating through space, being underwater, or walking through a peaceful forest.

Emotional release

Singing bowls are one of my favorite ways to create a mental detox from the noise of everyday life.

Simply close your eyes, take a deep breath, and repeat it three times. Then bring your attention back to your breath and allow the sound to guide you through the experience.

The vibrations of singing bowls can help calm the mind, reduce stress, and encourage a state of deep relaxation. Many people describe feeling more centered, clear, and balanced after a session.

In sound healing, different bowls are often associated with different energy centers, or chakras, throughout the body. As the frequencies move through the space, they can help bring awareness to areas where we may feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or out of balance.

For me, a sound bath is not about escaping life. It’s about creating a few moments of stillness where the body can relax, the mind can slow down, and we can reconnect with ourselves.

I love this because it reminds me that personal growth often starts with a simple shift in perspective.

The more self confidence we build, the less room doubt has.
The more we focus on growth and self improvement, the harder it becomes to stay stuck.
The more joy we create in our own life, the less comparison matters.

Real transformation is built through self awareness, emotional healing, better habits, and the daily decision to keep moving forward. Little by little, those small choices shape our mindset, our confidence, and the life we create for ourselves.

When I lost my sister to cancer, I thought I was losing my mind.

I spent the last month with her. I watched someone I loved more than words can describe slowly disappear. Deep down, I knew what was coming, but knowing and accepting are two completely different things.

I didn’t use alcohol. I didn’t use medication. I didn’t numb myself. I had to sit with every feeling, every tear, every moment of pain.

And if I’m being completely honest, there were times I wished I could. I wished I could take something that would make the pain disappear, even for a little while. But I couldn’t. My body has never worked that way, so I had no choice but to feel everything.

Looking back, I wish I had known some of the things I know now. I wish I had known how important it is to regulate your nervous system, spend time in nature, breathe, move your body, meditate, and allow yourself to feel instead of fighting every emotion.

The biggest thing I learned is that grief doesn’t disappear. You learn how to carry it.

I still miss my sister every single day. I always will.

If you’ve lost a brother or sister, my heart is with you.

And if you’re in that place right now, please don’t carry it alone.
