Does it feel like every cold you get turns into a full-blown sinus infection while everyone else recovers in a few days?

It may not be bad luck. And it may not be your immune system.
For many patients, the real issue is anatomy. When your sinus drainage pathways are already narrow, even a simple cold can create enough swelling to trap mucus, leading to recurring infections, pressure, congestion, headaches, and endless rounds of antibiotics.

The good news? Once you understand the root cause, you can finally break the cycle.

If you’re tired of getting sick over and over again, comment “SICK” below and let’s take a closer look at what’s really going on.

“Mewing” has become one of the internet’s most talked-about jawline trends—but does it actually work?

Experts say there’s an important distinction. During childhood, tongue posture may play a role in facial development while the bones are still growing.

However, there’s no convincing scientific evidence that mewing can dramatically reshape an adult’s jawline.

Good posture and proper tongue placement may have their benefits, but expecting a new jawline from mewing alone isn’t supported by current research.

Still sleeping with a CPAP but waking up exhausted?

For many people, CPAP can be an important part of treating sleep apnea. But if you're struggling with the mask, removing it during the night, feeling congested, or still waking up tired, it may be time to look deeper.

A CPAP helps keep your airway open while you sleep—but it doesn't address the underlying cause of airway obstruction.

Nasal blockage, a deviated septum, enlarged turbinates, and other anatomical issues can all affect your ability to breathe comfortably and get quality sleep.

You don't have to settle for restless nights and low energy.
Schedule an evaluation with Dr. Mandel to learn what's really impacting your breathing and sleep.

“Bone smashing” has gained attention online as a supposed way to create a stronger, more defined jawline. But according to facial surgeons, it’s based on a complete misunderstanding of how bones heal.

Instead of improving facial structure, repeatedly hitting the face can lead to bruising, fractures, nerve damage, facial asymmetry, and permanent deformity. While bones do remodel under certain conditions, facial trauma doesn’t produce predictable or aesthetic results.

The bottom line? There’s no scientific evidence that bone smashing enhances your appearance but there is real evidence that it can cause lasting damage.

Most people assume facial pressure means migraines.
But sometimes the real problem is trapped pressure inside your sinuses.

When the tiny openings that ventilate your sinuses become blocked by swelling, inflammation, or anatomy, air can become trapped and absorbed. The result? A vacuum effect that pulls on the sensitive lining of your sinus walls and creates that deep, squeezing pressure around your eyes, cheeks, or forehead.

Pain medication may temporarily mask the symptoms, but it doesn’t address the underlying cause.

If you’ve been dealing with persistent facial pressure, headaches, or sinus discomfort, it may be time to look deeper.

What if reducing your pesticide exposure was as simple as changing what’s in your grocery cart?

Research found that families who switched to an all-organic diet saw their urinary glyphosate levels drop by 70% in just 6 days, with levels approaching baseline within days. The same study also showed reductions across multiple other pesticides.

The key takeaway? For many pesticides, your body isn’t the problem—ongoing exposure is.

Small changes in your food choices can make a measurable difference faster than many people realize.

Glyphosate has traditionally been associated with agricultural use, but biomonitoring studies have expanded the conversation around exposure.

Research has reported detectable levels of glyphosate or its metabolites in a significant percentage of sampled populations, including pregnant women in certain studies.

These findings have contributed to ongoing discussions about environmental exposure, food systems, and the potential health implications of widespread chemical use.

As scientific research continues to evolve, glyphosate remains one of the most closely studied and debated chemicals in public health and environmental medicine.
