People don’t talk enough about how much caregiving takes out of us.

Whether it’s a family member that is ill, elder care, end of life care or supporting family through difficult seasons, it affects the whole family.

The insurmountable stress in making choices, being flexible with time at a drop of a dime, emergencies, emotional overwhelm, grief, trying to stay strong for everyone else…. It takes a lot out of the body and causes nervous system dysregulation. And if you already have a chronic condition, it can cause a spiral of flare ups.

The one common thing I’ve seen over the last 18 years in myself and others in clinic is that while the tough circumstances may not change, people in treatment feeling more rooted, stronger to handle what’s coming, more regulated, less fragile and overwhelmed.

This message is for you who is carrying a ton of weight on your shoulders and heart, keeping it all together while trying to care for others also.

I understand. You are not alone.

PSA. I went into heat exhaustion last night taking my weekly high cardiovascular intense house dance class in heavy non breathable sweats and the heat escalated fast.

Dizziness, nausea, almost fainting, then chills.

It’s only going to get warmer, and most people don’t think about this when they’re in the middle of an activity or workout.

Pay attention to early signs and stop before it gets worse. Heat stroke is an emergency and can lead to organ damage (brain, heart, kidneys).

If I had to simplify it, this is where I’d start.

Most people are chasing symptoms instead of fixing the system.

Even I prioritize nervous system regulation.

Allergy season has begun. You can see the layer of pollen film on the cars and it makes me itchy just thinking about it. 🤧

The biggest mistake is waiting until symptoms get really bad.

Starting earlier can help reduce how severe it gets. 🤓

I have the most thoughtful patients. I’m always so touched when they bring me gifts, which are never expected.

Not just one, but two patients brought something on the same day. 🥹

The chamomile is straight from Greece and I must say it’s the most aromatic I’ve ever come across.

Another patient brought a homemade pistachio Dubai cheesecake that was absolutely divine.

I see their heart in these gestures, which fills my cup. I am blessed. Knowing that such beautiful hearts seek me and find me makes all the hard work worth it.

If you’re gaining weight, feeling foggy, exhausted, or noticing menstrual changes, it’s easy to assume it’s “just hormones.”

But hormones don’t operate in isolation.

Your nervous system influences how and when hormones are released. It affects the communication between your brain and your reproductive system, your stress response, your sleep cycles, and your metabolic rhythm.

When that system is dysregulated, symptoms can show up as fatigue, brain fog, weight shifts, and cycle changes.

Lifestyle foundations matter:
• sleep
• morning light
• whole foods
• hydration
• movement
• emotional regulation

But if you’ve been in a chronic stress or inflammatory state for a long time, self-regulation can become harder.

That’s when professional guidance can make a meaningful difference.

If this resonates and you’ve been feeling stuck despite your efforts, you can learn more about working together through the link in my bio.

If your body isn’t bouncing back the way it used to, there‘s usually more going on beneath the surtace.
Regulation needs to happen first.

Not enough people talk about the hard work required when you don’t see immediate change or benefits.

The grit it takes to keep showing up day in and day out.
To keep doing the hard thing.

To put it in God’s hands while continuing to walk in faith that it is all working for your best good, even when you don’t see progress yet.

This is what any real journey looks like.
Health. Fitness. Athletics. Dance. Art. Business.
Entrepreneurship. Inner cultivation.

There is no quick fix, yet so many expect one.

2025 for me was a continued refinement of the years before it.

I experienced many pitfalls, and those same pitfalls gave me the opportunity to stretch and strengthen my internal muscles, allowing me to see real progress within.

Each year, the space between challenge and reaction gets wider.

What no longer serves me continues to fall away with more clarity and precision.

I love this season of growth, strength, learning, leading, and teaching I am in.

2025 was another challenging year, and one I truly loved.
When you learn to love the process, good or hard, you win.
Looking ahead to 2026 as things continue to align for God’s highest purpose for me.

Deeply grateful for the people and beings I get to walk with, love, laugh with, support, and be supported by along the way.
Wishing everyone a safe and grounded New Year’s Eve. 🤍

Most people with chronic, complex conditions come in thinking it’s one thing - a hormone, a gut issue, inflammation, a flare.

Very often, what’s driving everything underneath is prolonged nervous system strain.

When the sympathetic nervous system is locked up, with the inability to go into repair mode, the body stays in a state of high demand.

Inflammation rises.

Recovery drops.

The ability to heal and regenerate at the cellular level is impaired.

This is why symptoms worsen instead of resolve, even when people are “doing all the right things.”

Chronic nervous system dysregulation changes how the body responds, adapts, and repairs.

Just because it’s the holidays doesn’t mean your nervous system suddenly becomes jolly.

The stress is still there. The overwhelm is still there.

Many people are expected to be merry and happy right now, yet are suffering silently.

Holding it together on the outside while their system is stretched thin underneath.

If this resonates, you’re not alone.

🔹 Research consistently shows that roughly one-third to nearly half of adults experience increased stress during the holiday season, often driven by emotional pressure, family dynamics, finances, workload, or unresolved grief.

🔹 Anxiety, low mood, and stress-related symptoms tend to rise between late November and early January, even in people who appear “high-functioning” from the outside.

🌀 This is physiology responding to sustained demand. Aka Nervous System Overwhelm
